Do you believe people should get drug tests before receiving government benefits? For illegal drugs like opioids, that cost a lot of money to obtain? That way the money goes to people that are hard workers and need it to support families.
No. Poor people are just as trustworthy as higher class folks.
It’s not a matter of trustworthiness or lack thereof, it’s a matter of making sure benefits are being used as intended. If a person is given money for groceries and baby care supplies, then that money needs to be spent to purchase groceries, diapers, baby wipes, etc. instead of recreational drugs. Anyone who wants to purchase non-essential items, like recreational drugs, should do so with money they earn as opposed to taxpayers’ money.
Which would give government agents access to your health records a violation of the 4th amendment. Stfu traitor.
Govt agents already have access to people’s health records. Ever heard of mandatory reporting laws, the VA, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, community/state clinics/hospitals, etc.?
Why spend so much money on something that’s been shown to be a non-issue?
My own mother would waste money and sell food stamps just for drugs, I’ve know plenty of parents who did that and as a result their kids went hungry. It is an issue, even if it isn’t a massive issue.
The plural of anecdote isn’t evidence.
How are you “pro life for all” but don’t care about helping drug addicts and their children?
I do care. I just don’t think mandatory drug testing for welfare programs is the answer :)
ah yes not wanting drug addicts to starve to death is the epitome of not caring for them and their kids
