Imrath - My dragonborn paladin of Amaunator, a sun deity.
Ash - A previous friend’s fire genasi rogue that is in some old art, but won’t be in future work.
Izek - My favorite NPC; super loyal and insanely grumpy. Imrath’s beloved.
Muriel - Curious and bubbly, she’s a sweetheart, even if she can overwhelm you with questions sometimes.
Marileina - A real Child of Destiny, she’s a powerful mage with the snarky attitude of a girl brought up as a Baron’s daughter, with a temper, no small amount of lust for battle, and occasionally a far off look in her eye.
Ismark - Sunshine yellow lab Prince Charming man. He can cook. He loves his little sister. He has recently become a Baron.
Mir - The hottest woman you’ve ever seen, with a wit about as sharp as her blades and the thirst for adventure and monster hunting.
Vasilka - She is the answer to the questions: What if Frankenstein’s monster was a young girl? & What if Frankenstein’s monster was actually loved and educated by its creator?
Viktor - Slimy little weasel man, but he actually cares about Vasilka and is growing a spine about it, so we forgive him. He’s a spoiled rich kid, used to mistreating others, but his girlfriend is really sweet.
Rurzu / Ru - A mean girl tiefling ranger, with a sharp tongue and sharper temper. She’s one of Imrath’s best friends and Phlora’s older half sister. Once she cares about you, she’s ride or die.
Phlora / Daisy - Just as devilish as her sister, just all wrapped up in bubblegum. She’s like everyone’s baby sister
Nyerg / Nyergarath - Has been attached at the hip with Imrath since they hatched. He’s a blockhead with a golden heart, and is in training to become an apothecary.
Arabelle - A Vistani girl that becomes fast friends with Mari.
saw something about a character being willing to put aside their humanity to protect the person they love > thought of Izek (always prime real estate for that kind of thing) > but then I thought of Immy who can, with his whole chest, answer that question with "Good thing I'm not human." And there is something delicious there.
Making a new background NPC and he got a name because I was tired of typing "the shopkeeper" looks like he needs a design. His name is Matvei.
I think he's older than Anton. Bald or balding. Has a five o'clock shadow where he could grow a whole beard but only keeps a mustache. Maybe wears some simple jewelry. Maybe a necklace.
Endlessly entertained by the stereotypical implications that Im, a bookworm, raised in a temple, goody-two-shoes bleeding heart paladin, sunshine coded should be a blushing virgin getting flustered at the slightest touch...
Meanwhile he's effortlessly charming with a bunch of people, including a years long casual affair with the hottest guy in boot camp, and only gets as flustered as he does with Izek because he's a man starving and wants him biblically.
This sketch is YEARS old. I was never proud enough to publish it as is outside of the discord for the game, but at this point it's pretty clear I'm not going back to finish it any time soon so time to post it.
Mari (who wants to grow up to be a super cool spell knight heroine) playing around on the road with the party. Wixen loves to play the villlain, and Imrath is happy to play damsel. Izek is somewhere either Actually On Watch, or playing jailer or something.
My darling @horrorpostergirl always indulges me with the boys. She deserves to be taken on a date. They're holding all the doors and taking her wherever she says.
@doctor-bus and I were talking FOREVER ago about the ways having a demon arm for so many years might have left it's marks on Izek, like all the teeth on his right side being crooked and sharp.
Imrath, with a mouth full of his own fangs who grew up around a bunch of tieflings, thinks it's cute.
I've had this doodled up since well before I wrote the chapter, but I finally finished it. The final pose is a little different, but not too different.
Izek gets laid out in Mari's bed in the castle at her insistence. It's the safest place they have at their disposal. Mari tucks herself in on his 'good side' with a pillow from the couch so she'll know if he tries to get up. Ismark sits down at the end of the bed to get his baby sister settled, eventually lays down across the bottom of the bed, and Imrath (in one of the few moments he actually leaves Izek's side) tucks him in under his cloak so he doesn't catch a chill. Imrath pulls up a chair to stay close in case he starts bleeding again and needs healing, and refuses to leave his side, so Wixen curls up on his back/in his lap to share warmth and offer him a little comfort.
Idea for the Human AU: Someone overhears Imrath and Izek voices through the crack door of one of the Vargas' Firm's conference rooms and peeks in. There's already a ton of office gossip that they're involved because of how singularly tolerant Izek is of him and how obviously over the moon Imrath is. Anyway, inside the room is Izek standing, leaned against the table and Imrath is on his knees in front of him, hands busy.
Izek has zipped the end of his favorite jacket into his fly and Imrath caught him trying to fix it, assumed the same unsavory things at first, and then LAUGHED at him so hard Izek demanded he help fix it.
Some of the dialogue one might hear:
Imrath frustrated, "How did you even DO this?!"
"I don't know! I didn't MEAN to!"
"Why not unzip your jacket to piss?"
"This hasn't HAPPENED before, Imrath!" Izek's holding onto the desk like a vice, glaring down.
"Hold STILL. This is hard enough without you sqiurming around."
Izek's feet readjusting again and Imrath sighing. "You're on my crotch, man. What do you expect?"
"You to unzip next time."
"I should smack you for your smart mouth you know that?"
"My smart mouth is why we get along."
"Well shut it the hell up for a minute and get it out already."
Imrath giggling like, "That's what she said."
"You're a fucking moron."
And all the other office workers have never seen Izek so emotive OR talkative and Imrath has never been heard cussing or threatening anyone or in any way matching Izek's energy.
