Duties for the Maid of Honor - A Detailed List
Go dress shopping with the Bride - For her dress and your bridesmaid dresses! Wear clothes and shoes that are easy to slip on and off
Be the team leader! As the MOH it is your responsibility to be sure that all bridesmaids have all necessary info. such as shower and bachelorette dates and times and dress fittings and schedules.
Help spread the word about where the couple is registered
Host of co-host a bridal shower - Sometimes this is something that the family of the bride like to do but would appreciate your help!)
Keep track of all the gifts given to the Bride and Groom. This list will be used to write the ‘Thank You’ cards. Feel free to delegate this task to another member of the bridal party.
Along with the rest of the bridesmaids, plans a kick-ass bachelorette party! Be considerate of what the Bride wants and don’t go hiring Dr.Love if it’s something that would truly upset her.
Be sure that all bridesmaids are looking great with their hair, makeup and outfits all done and on time.
Help the Bride get dressed and take lots of pictures!
Pop in an awesome music playlist to listen to on the drive to the ceremony! This drive is a great memory for a ton of brides!
Hold on to the Grooms ring (if the ring bearer doesn’t already have it)
Give the Bride a little last minute love before she walks down the aisle!
While at the altar, arrange her train and veil as necessary and take her bouquet during the vows.
Sign the marriage license as a witness, along with the Best Man
Round the troops for the formal ceremony photos
Along with the other bridesmaids, be a great hostess! Help guest with any directions to the reception venue, encourage them to sign the guest book and encourage them to get on the dance floor!
Remind the Bride to eat something, refresh her cocktail as well as her water glass and grab her a plate of food from the buffet!
During dinner, give a toast or speech to the newlyweds. It doesn’t have to be elaborate if you aren’t comfortable with public speaking.
Remind the couple about any little things they may have forgotten amidst all of the beautiful chaos! Things such as cutting the cake or taking a great big group photo. They will appreciate that you made sure hese important little details got taken care of!
After the party has ended, collect the Bride and Grooms things such as any clothing, shoes or decor that were left behind, and bring them to their home the next day.
As the Maid of Honor, you were chosen because the Bride loves you. She thinks that you are the perfect person to be her ‘go-to’ girl throughout all of the planning and execution of the best day of her life. Be there to listen to your friend and help her even when she is boring you to death about pink vs. blush or her worries about any crazy family drama that might cause a scene! The Bride needs you for support and just to love her and keep her sane. She will never forget all the things you did to help her and she will cherish these memories forever!!

If you really are a wedding lover and want to do even MORE for your friends, here are some great ideas to show how much you love them!
Learn little tips to help out the bride - such as showing her how to use the toilet in her wedding dress and how to stop her thighs from chaffing in her gown.
Make a wedding day emergency kit for the Bride. Include things like: Band-Aids, Bobby pins, a bleach pen, straws, mints and granola bars etc.
If the couple will be staying in a hotel in their wedding night, go ahead and bring their overnight bags, as well as decorate with rose petals and champagne etc. (Talk to the Groom about this!)
Decorate the “Getaway Car” with bows and cans for the couples Grand Exit
