He chuckled at her comment about the wind. “Sort of, actually. It’s usually pretty cold, so we’re going to have to get you some warmer clothes.” He turned onto a different road and increased their speed. “And don’t worry about your legacies, they’ll come in their own time. We need to focus on training the ones you have right now, first. We can worry about what’s not there later.” The rolling fields outside the window were starting to look familiar, and a sense of security–and also anxiety–settled on his shoulders. They should probably get a new car soon, just in case. And maybe take a bus or train to the inner city from here. “I have no idea how many of us are left. But based on the scars on your leg, I can say that most of them are probably alive. I don’t know about the Cepans, though. Maybe I’m the last one…” he trailed off, letting the morbid sentence hang unfinished. He didn’t need to worry about that yet. He needed to worry about keeping One safe, for now. Everything else could wait until later. “We’re getting close. At the next town, I’m going to pull over and we’ll catch a bus from there to the city, just in case this car is somehow being tracked. We can never be to careful.”
“Can’t we just do that like off the computer or something?” She asked wrinkling her features. Yeah sometimes clothes shopping was fun but lately she didn’t feel much like going to a store; it involved too much being careful and too much watching over your shoulder to be fun. “Then it’ll be a really short training session.” She muttered still feeling a little bitter the only thing she really had to train was her one and the telekinesis they all had. One had to admit she was kind of hoping by now she would have more than just the one to work with because in her mind the others had all these cool things they could do. “Hopefully there is more than just you and more than just me.” It was hard to be optimistic considering. “Bus it is... Long as I don’t have to sit next to some creepy guy because I don’t promise to be able to fight the urge to break fingers or something if he’s annoying.” She joked but she wasn’t sure it was funny. “Though I totally reserve the right to change my look up once I get there.” Sometimes that was fun, getting to be someone new.
