“The team wanted to do a two [stop], like they wanted to do a two in the last race as well. But today I, again, my gut was telling me it’s a three [stop] today and I wanted to do a three. I was adamant, no matter what they were showing me, they said that three stops were four seconds slower, I was like “I’m sure it’s three stop today, the deg is going to be higher." "The track was is super high in temperature, so I wanted to start on the soft. But they pushed and pushed the medium. Starting on the soft may have been a little better, to get away, but I still would’ve only made that first stop on the same place. I still would’ve fall back behind Max. But maybe the next stop I would’ve had it better chance to, maybe catch Piastri… Anyway, the team did a good job on executing what we had. The guys did a great job on the pit stops.”
