Lora tilts her head at the response– he doesn’t know what a Titan is, despite the fact that they’re as common knowledge in Alrest as Blades, or Ether, or Nopon, or, well, she hasn’t seen any of those yet here, so, this… isn’t good, probably, maybe.
“ Are you sure? I mean– A Titan makes up this landmass, doesn’t it? ” She sort of gestures her arms out in an arc as she speaks, emphasizing her point on the word landmass, though she quickly lets her arms drop to her sides in defeat– not hopeless defeat, but defeat irregardless. “ I… suppose this isn’t even Alrest, is it? ” She laughs a little in discomfort, before working her jaw.
So, then, how could this land stay up like this? Turning it over a little in her mind is starting to make her feel a little bit dizzy, so she decides to focus on what the other person just said.
“ Oh, um, ” she begins, pulling out her phone and squinting at it, “ I have this, and they said I was staying at… Lakeview Lofts, but I haven’t the faintest on how to get this working. ” Frustration creeps into her tone a bit. Surely, it couldn’t be that hard to get it working, but she’s never even heard of a device like this before, much less used one.
okay, even blues can admit this is pretty sad. he’s not that experienced with this level of culture shock, but... oh boy.
he grunts somewhat sympathetically, nodding in one short motion. “i’m sure. dunno what alrest is either. sorry.” blues tilts his head to look at the image displayed on her phone. “lakeview lofts is on beaulieu. that’s the other island. good luck getting over there, i guess. i’m... not helping you.
blues grimaces at how she struggles with the device; he’s never seen somebody look so lost. he practically rips it out of her hands and points to the screen. “this is the screen. you touch it and things happen.” as if to demonstrate, he swipes across the screen with one finger. “it’s not that difficult, don’t worry,” he reassures her, a bit of compassion seeping back into his tone.
“there’s, like... i mean, you can use this to call people. you know how to call people, right? and you can look things up. it’s really not that different from your average phone or computer.” abrasiveness like this is only second nature to blues by now. not his fault if she doesn’t know what a phone is, right?
“i --... i’m break man. call me break man. hi.” it wouldn’t hurt to make a friend or two while he’s here, would it? it’s a fresh start. a new beginning. nobody knows who he is, and there’s no reason not to help a person out every now and then when he gets the opportunity.
