cities at night are the most comforting thing i think ever to me
“Quando vamos entrar em um lago, entramos com medo, pois não sabemos a profundidade dele. Entramos com cuidado, procurando o chão. O amor é a mesma coisa, ninguém quer se afogar.”

The dark side of the moon
I find kind of funny how people think they know me, because they don’t know me at all.
Partly, is my decision: I tent to show just one side of myself. Partly, it’s their fault: they like the part that I show them and they think it’s all.
People find in me something that catches their attention, something that satisfies their curiosity/problems, and they take only that side of me: the one that gives them comfort, the one they like. They never go deeper, they never see behind the facade, they never even look for the other stuff.
They don’ t search for “the dark side of the moon”.
That is the most interesting part of me. I admit that it’s well covered behind a thick armour of hyper criticism, cynicism and grumpiness; but it’s there. I don’t know why people like to think they know me by seeing and understanding just half of me, but it’s what happens everytime I meet someone. They love the damn facade.
The shiny and bright side is the one that we’re supposed to be made of; but some of us, the unlucky ones, have a really dark side behind that, a dark place that we like to explore and drown in on our own. We never find someone willing to explore that side, neither we trust someone enough to let them see that side. That’s why we are alone.
In loneliness and silence none can hurt us with some stupid judgement on how “bad” we are or we sound like. Loneliness is the only place where you can really see us for who we are. But none wants to be in loneliness and darkness, because they don’t want your problems; they may ask for your advice or your opinion on something, but they’ll neve ask you if you need any.
That’s the struggle: being loved by many that don’t know you at all or being loved by some that get you for who you really are?

“If you can find someone like that, someone who you can hold and close your eyes to the world with, then you’re lucky. Even if it only lasts for a minute or a day.”
