”Mm, that’s very true.”
Sigyn watches the woman’s fingers as she works, admiring the speed with which she’s able to weave the flowers together, a skill Sigyn herself is only capable of displaying at her own, comparatively slow pace.
A thin eyebrow raises at the mention of the name, and a memory tugs a the back of her head. Quickly, Sigyn disperses it; it’s not too too unusual for people to be given the same name. She smiles politely, inclining her head slightly in a bowing fashion.
”I’m glad to meet you, Persephone, as well as stumble on your…lively masterpiece. I am Sigyn.”
She considers for a moment before weaving another flower crown, offering it to Sigyn. It's her way of making friends, even if it is rather odd. When Sigyn tells her her name, Persephone frowns and thinks for a moment. She remembers the name from somewhere, but can't quite place it. Oh well, it's hardly important right now. "Oh, it truly isn't anything special! I am only bringing them back to life; they looked rather sad otherwise. It's nice to meet you, Sigyn. What brings you here?"
Victor chuckled softly, petting her gently and leaning back against the headboard once he had taken the tea with the other hand. ”I don’t suppose there’s any way for you to keep contact? Letters, or… something that could give you an idea of what goes on up here?”
She wondered for a moment, stealing one of his pillows to support her back. Then, the goddess frowned, digging through her pockets. "Wait, wait, hold on--"
Pulling out a phone -- a new model, not one of those old Nokia's, thank the gods -- she grins triumphantly. "Do you believe this would work?"
+ melinoeofghosts
"Melinoe!" Persephone starts when she sees her daughter, not having expected to see her until autumn at least.
"What brings you here, παιδι μου? "
“Silly animal,” Victor murmured, though there was something rather fond in the words, which were mostly to himself. He glanced back to her afterwards, nodding slowly. ”I can see how that would be… disconcerting, to say the least. Perhaps you need to check in more often.”
Isa dropped the ball on the bed again, hopping onto it once more and curling up in his lap. Persephone just sighed, sitting down properly and handing him his tea. "I can't. I still go to the Underworld for six months each year, and I wander much during my time up here. I can't imagine settling down permanently."
God, it had been an awfully long time since he’d last had a dog to deal with— it made him just a little hesitant in picking the ball up and tossing it gently towards the far wall. ”What do you mean? I mean— which part is problematic, in your view?”
With a rapidly wagging tail, the dog ran after the ball, trying to catch it mid-air and failing spectacularly. "As soon as I believe I've adjusted to society well enough, You've all changed already and I have to start over. It's awful."
Come and dance
“But i’m terrible at dancing.”
“Trust me, im rubbish.”
"Come on, Peter. Please?"
Come and dance
“But i’m terrible at dancing.”
“Seriously though, I look like a deranged goose when I dance.”
"I haven't danced in hundreds of years, I'm sure you're not that bad."
Come and dance
“But i’m terrible at dancing.”
"Oh, don't be silly! Come on, Peter, let's dance!"
Victor raised an eyebrow, but didn’t push the issue. He was positive that she wasn’t going to get herself caught, whatever happened. ”No, you’re not. But humans attach some… romance, I suppose, to the notion. People are a bit weird, I guess.”
Isa came back with a ball and trotted towards Victor, dropping it on the bed and barking again while Persephone shrugged. "Mortals are odd, Victor. You're all advancing much too fast for my liking."
verses i need to write up/do sometime:
persie being the only ruler of the underworld and being really twisted and awful
something where shes reincarnated as a human??? maybe still has some of her lesser powers idk
????
?????? ik what else?????
”Isa seems to work for now,” he decided.
”And— where did you get all the stuff, anyway? Bit mysterious.” Then again, he wouldn’t be surprised. He lay back on the bed a little, still rather preoccupied with the dog. ”Though— mysterious does work for you, very well.”
"Well-- Let's say I have my ways." The dog barked playfully, wagging her tail and jumping off the bed to find a toy. "I'm not the goddess of mystery, you know."
It just made Victor smile more and he petted the dog carefully, before huffing out a little laugh and glancing back over to Persephone. ”Oh, I don’t know. ‘Litter Cerberus’ has a certain appeal to it, somehow. Cerbie for short.” He gave another amused smile, though he was somewhat unsure himself whether or not he was being serious. ”—She’s wonderful, by the way. Already. Just— yeah. Or Isa. Slight modernisation, but— hmm.”
Persephone watched the dog walk all over Victor to get used to her new environment and the new person, and she smiled as she rubbed the dog's back. "Isa? Hm. Whatever you choose, she's yours. I managed to get dog food and toys, too. Surprisingly easy to get it all."
Never one to be particularly talented in the art of concealment, the surprise is blatant on her face. She looks around the garden in awe, unable to believe that such a beautiful place could have been as dead as she remembered it to be.
"You…you did all this? Truly?"
An effusive smile takes its place on her face.
"It’s wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Won’t you tell me your name so I that I might thank you properly?”
Persephone grins, fashioning a quick little crown out of the flowers and weaving them into her hair. Others enjoying her abilities always fills her with glee-- nowadays, people no longer appreciate these things in life.
"Yes, I did! I quite enjoy it. The world is so barren nowadays, it's rather sad."
She ponders if she should use an alias, then decides against it-- it's unlikely she'll ever meet this stranger again, isn't it?
"Persephone. My name is Persephone. And yours, miss..?"
