Even if the story is predictable or obviously designed to make you cry, I often end up bawling my eyes out, just as the creators intended. (I cry really hard.) Of all the subjects, I was particularly bad at math, so I'd like to take a math class. For the first semester's midterm exams, Koro-sensei started creating clones of himself to teach each of us one-on-one. But the next day, Koro-sensei got angry at us for not being very motivated to study and told us this: If none of us ranked in the top 50 on the midterm exams, he would leave this classroom... It seems like everyone in the other groups managed to do their sightseeing properly. Kataoka's group aimed for the Sagano Scenic Railway, Nakamura's group for the movie village, and Hara's group for Kiyomizu-dera Temple, but it seems like they all failed. I wish our group's plan had worked out too. (Kanzaki)

The nights at the inn during the school trip were really fun. I discovered a lot of things, like how good Kanzaki-san is at games, and how Bitch-sensei is still a young lady. It was fun talking to everyone. In the end, it turned into a chaotic chase scene chasing Koro-sensei even at the inn. (Okuda)

Almost everyone in the class uses this type of notebook. There are four colors, so some people use different colors for each subject, while others stick to the same color for everyone. By the way, the most popular color is green. (Okuda)

He has a gentle manner, but is consistently cold toward those who are inferior to him or oppose him. With beautiful features and elegant and noble refinement, he is one of the popular elite who has overwhelming support from Kunugigaoka’s female students. Yukiko took care of her grandmother to the end, and she cannot forget her grandmother’s grateful expression. It led her to aspire to become a nurse.

But what are Ren's motives here? Is he trying to get his best bud to realize his feelings for Yukiko or does Ren actually want her all to himself?

So... I don’t see it as a serious 'best friends fighting over a girl' cliché either. Instead, I view Ren’s behavior more as him being a 'ragebaiter' for Gakushuu. In my headcanon, he’s like a mix of Karma’s love for stirring the pot and Maehara’s playboy tendencies. If he acts like he’s sulking about Gakushuu 'stealing' his interest, it’s honestly just him teasing his best friend. It’s all in good fun and never truly malicious.

​I think because Ren is arguably the nicest among the Virtuosos, even more than Gakushuu himself. From my perspective, he is more tolerate to Class E and don't really arogant to them... while yeah... even if he still a d*ckhead.

For me, Ren can read Gakushuu easily. Especially when it comes to romance, Ren’s intuition is sharp. Even though he’s known as a player, there is a certain irony in the fact that those who treat relationships as a game often understand the mechanics of attraction better than those who are too serious about it.

​In my mind, Ren actually acts as a vital bridge between Gakushuu and Yukiko. While Gakushuu is perfection incarnate and can easily analyze Yukiko’s surface-level interests, Ren is the one who understands the nuances of human connection. He’s essentially Gakushuu’s sounding board and reluctant advisor.

​And regarding to Yukiko, even though she clearly isn’t interested in Ren romantically, I think there’s definitely room for a unique friendship there. Given Yukiko’s gentle nature and their shared love for literature, Ren is perfectly positioned to be the one to nudge them together. It’s a great dynamic.

Gakushuu might be the one who understands everything, but Ren is the one who understands people. It really highlights how a specialist—someone who focuses on the 'art' of connection can sometimes grasp the intricacies of romance much better than someone who tries to master everything at once. It’s such a clever way to keep the Big 5 dynamic engaging!

As for the Ren, Rio, and Karma trio you ask about... I love how they’ve basically turned into Gakushuu’s personal nightmare! My headcanon for them actually started with Ren. I like to imagine him 'stalking' Gakushuu’s dates, partly out of genuine concern that his best friend might be way too stiff and uptight when he’s with Yukiko.

​Since Ren is essentially the 'Virtuoso version of Karma' but with Maehara’s playboy flair, he can’t resist stirring the pot. He’s constantly teasing Gakushuu, even if it usually ends with Gakushuu giving him extra student council busywork as punishment. It’s a hilarious cycle!

​Then, adding Rio and Karma to the mix just makes it perfect. Rio, to me, is the school’s (mostly E class's) information broker. She’s always in the loop, and she loves using that info for teasing. And of course, Karma wouldn’t be Karma if he didn’t jump at the chance to mess with his favorite rival. Once Rio and Karma teamed up, it was game over for Gakushuu.

​I see this trio working in perfect harmony when they target Gakushuu. They don't really go after Yukiko:) Instead, they love waiting for the exact moment Gakushuu finishes a date or drops her off, only to ambush him and relentlessly tease him for the entire walk home. It’s the ultimate group effort to break his cool, collected facade!

​I’ve actually been debating whether to add Koro-sensei to this chaotic group, but I’m still stuck on how he’d react. Given that he was always pushing for Yukiko and Sugino, I’m still trying to figure out if he’d be supportive or if he’d just try to stir up even more awkwardness! Do you have any thoughts on how he’d handle the situation?

Who knew Ren was such a shipper? And for him to team up with Karma of all people?? That extra council work is very much deserved.

Gakushuu being Karma's favorite rival implies he has more rivals. I can see Yukiko being his game rival, and whenever she kicks his demonic ass, she sends a screenshot or pic (if it's a game machine) to Gakushuu to use as teasing material. Gakushuu has them stored neatly in a little folder called A.S.S. which stands for "Akabane's Shameful Scores" (It was later changed to "Akabane Getting Pwned" after some of his classmates saw his desktop and thought Gakushuu was actually dirty minded. Seo's teasing did not help one bit.)

As for Koro-sensei, I already said he'd quickly go into paparazzi mode. A romantic development is a romantic development, even if it wasn't one of his ships, and the guy has a bestseller to write! He'd also be forbidden from joining the group by Karasuma (for obvious reasons), so he'd rely on Rio for some intel for a price (no homework, taking her to a country of her choice, etc.) He'd probably try to comfort Sugino, but the moment Rio walks in with a tip on where Gakushuu and Yukiko's next date will be, the camera is out and the octopus is gone! Obviously, this makes Sugino feel even worse, but hey, at least he tried, right?

Hello! This is me, the one who ask you about what makes you ship GakuYuki.

Your headcanons are absolutely incredible! Honestly, I’ve always been a quite fan of the 'Dominant BF × Calm GF' dynamic, and GakuYuki is just the perfect representation of that.

​For me, what makes them so compelling is the balance they bring to each other. Gakushuu is someone who lives under constant pressure, he’s intense and always has that 'dominant' aura. Yukiko, on the other hand, provides that much-needed peace. She doesn't need to be loud to be powerful, and I love the idea of Gakushuu being absolutely floored by her hidden 'badass' side.

​Regarding Gakushuu being in denial, I can totally see him trying to hide it and there’s no way the Virtuosos wouldn’t notice! Especially Ren. Since Ren is the expert on romance, he’d realize immediately that Gakushuu isn't just 'analyzing' Yukiko, but actually falling for her. In my headcanon, Ren’s flirting would be the perfect catalyst to force Gakushuu out of his comfort zone, though I can imagine Ren feeling 'betrayed' later when his own leader wins the girl he was targeting:)

There’s one specific scenario I’ve been thinking about. What happens if Gakushuu’s dominant side becomes too much to handle? There might be moments when his intensity is so high that even Yukiko’s usual smile can’t calm him down. I can imagine Yukiko hiding her own fear because she’s actually more worried about him than she is afraid. She would wisely give him space to cool off, but the irony is that Gakushuu would probably find her silence even more frustrating. He’d eventually be the one to go to her (after having inner war with his prestige of course) because he can't stand her not giving him any attention. It shows just how much he actually relies on her presence.

​I also keep thinking about some of your previous posts. The idea of Gakushuu playing with Yukiko’s long hair while letting her touch his is so soft and sweet, especially with their height difference! And your point about him preferring to hold her waist instead of her hand, that is such a perfect, subtle display of his possessive side. It’s like he’s silently marking his territory while keeping her close. I can also imagine that whenever Gakushuu is completely drained, a hug from Yukiko would be his only 'cure'.

​The image of him practicing his confession or secretly reading her poems is just gold. And Yukiko getting 'free tutoring' from him? The perfect excuse for them to be alone. But it makes me wonder, if Mr. Kanzaki approves of him, what about Yukiko's brothers? Since she comes from a traditional family, I’m curious how they’d react to someone as 'perfect' as Gakushuu.

​Lastly, I’m dying to know... how do you think Class E would react? I can already imagine the chaos! Most of them would probably be in shock that their 'goddess' is dating the perfectionist leader from the Main Building. I bet Karma would never let Gakushuu hear the end of it, while the girls would probably be busy teasing Yukiko for snagging such a high-spec boyfriend.

I think, it is how I am looking through them after looking about your headcanon. I kinda having some headcanon that Ren, Karma, and Rio would be such a trio to bother them.

I cannot tell you how much I love everything you said! I, too, like to imagine Gakushuu trying (and failing) to analyze his feelings away because let’s be real, that’s exactly what someone like him would do if he were to have a crush on somebody. And you bet he will be in denial about it for the longest time possible until either a) he finally accepts his feelings on his own or b) someone, probably Ren, else decides to make a move on Yukiko. And knowing Shuuboi, it might end up being the former.

But what are Ren’s motives here? Is he trying to get his best bud to realize his feelings for Yukiko or does Ren actually want her all to himself? Personally, I prefer the former not only because the whole “best friends fighting over a girl” is too cliche for my liking, but also because Yukiko has made it clear (via her mechanical pencil) that she is not interested in Ren, meaning his efforts would be futile and his friendship with Gakushuu would be ruined for no good reason.

But even if Ren was pursuing her, I don’t think he’d be too upset about “losing” Yukiko to Gakushuu. Given how he’s dated way more girls than Maehara, I feel like he moves on pretty fast.

The idea of a grouchy Gakushuu getting even grouchier because he wants attention from Yukiko is both hilarious and adorable, like a puppy (with a big ego) in need of attention. I think an experience like that will make them both understand the importance of communication, especially when discussing how they can comfort each other.

Regarding her family, it’s hard to imagine any of them disapproving of Gakushuu, he’s practically every traditional family’s dream son-in-law. The older Kanzaki sibling might put on a protective big brother act, but he’d actually like Shuu and welcome him into the family with open arms. The real question is, will Gakushuu like his future brother-in-law who has the annoying habit of ruffling his hair? Only Yukiko is allowed to touch his hair!

They might not like Gakuhou however, given his tendency to brag… a lot. (And the whole monster of a homeroom teacher for Class E, but since Koro-sensei was a wonderful teacher according to Yukiko, it’s all water under the bridge. The assassination aspect, though, still doesn’t sit well with them.)

As for Class E’s reaction…

First, RIP Sugino, Mimura, and Yoshida.

Second, I think the class will be split into “Huh, ok” and “Seriously, him??” depending on how much they like or dislike Gakushuu. Kataoka is in the latter camp; she is canonically the middle man between Yukiko and other students, so I headcanon they have a big sister-little sister dynamic. And from this one panel below, it’s safe to say Kataoka doesn’t like Gakushuu all that much.

That said, she’d respect Yukiko’s decision but still advise her to be careful. She’s definitely keeping an eye on that two-faced tangerine, though.

Hara is another big sister figure to Yukiko as per my headcanons. She’d be a little more accepting than Kataoka but still worried. Imagine the two discussing Gakushuu and Yukiko’s relationship like two concerned parents, Kataoka is the disapproving dad and Hara is mom who goes “Oh, don’t worry dear.”

Meanwhile Yukiko is standing in the background thinking, “I already have parents.”

Kayano and Okuda are okay with it. I can’t see them really disliking Shuu so much despite everything he’s done to E Class, especially not Okuda; she’s too pure to hold a grudge. Kayano would probably tease Yukiko and pester her to spill everything! Maybe she can get some tips on how to get a certain blue boy’s attention.

Speaking of which, he’s too busy comforting a heartbroken Sugino like the good friend that he is. Nagisa doesn’t have anything to say about the relationship, really.

Kayano isn’t the only one who wants the deets, there’s also Yada, Kurahashi, Irina, and of course, Rio and Okajima (before he and his pervy questions get chased away by Kataoka). Kayano’s teasing is nothing compared to Rio’s, and it’s worse when they join forces, remember the tickling scene?

And of course, Karma wouldn’t be Karma if he didn’t join in on the teasing, but Yukiko doesn’t offer him a satisfying reaction or anything he can use to get under Gakushuu’s skin, so he backs off. Ah well, she’s not his real target anyway. Him and Rio are already a scary duo, add Ren to the mix and Gakushuu better start looking for a good place to hide the bodies. I’m curious about your headcanons for this trio, Brie.

Isogai is in the more accepting camp. He’s too good-natured to hold a grudge against Gakushuu for the pole toppling thing, and thinks it’s great that Gakushuu is now in a relationship. Maehara is wondering how Gakushuu managed to pull the hottest girl in Class E and decides he should ask (read: harass) Gakushuu for some tips. Okano is right behind him, her foot ready to meet his face.

Takebayashi is also happy for Gakushuu. Maybe having a nice girlfriend will make him a better and happier person. The Terasaka gang can’t understand how and why the class madonna got together with the class president. They may or may not join forces with Karma to mess with Gakushuu.

Kimura doesn’t really care all that much, and yet somehow, he gets roped into Karma and Terasaka’s pranks. Who knew being the fastest boy in class could be such a curse?

Fuwa is already thinking of a shoujo manga plot and has enlisted the help of Ritsu and Sugaya. Hazama has already outlined the first chapter of her tragic romance novel that deals with class, familial pressure, and power imbalance, starring three main characters that are suspiciously similar to Sugino, Yukiko, and Gakushuu (There’s also a Terasaka-like character for some reason) Koro-sensei is already in his paparazzi gear, ready to gather as much material as he needs for his upcoming bestseller, and Karasuma already knows he’s gonna have to make sure the nosey octopus doesn’t accidentally reveal himself to the public. He can already feel the migraine forming.

The sniper duo are watching all this unfold. They quietly agree that keeping their relationship a secret was a good call.

Honestly, after looking through your pages, I'm curious... What made you love Ship Gakuyuki so much? If you're still loves it of course...

I love GakuYuki too, no offense:)

It because I think their personality... their vibes will be match in certain ways. Even though some people maybe think that they were not a good match, since we know they don't have any particular canon scene together that just two of them talking.

In all honesty, it started with me wondering how Yukiko and Gakushuu would interact because I felt like they could relate to each other’s family struggles.

And then I started shipping them XD

They’re both smart, good-looking, responsible individuals who deal with pressure from their well-respected families that ultimately leads to rebellion. They’re ambitious about their careers, with Yukiko becoming a certified caregiver while still in university and Gakushuu starting his own company pretty much straight outta MIT.

However, they are still pretty different from each other. Yukiko started out as a kind, but passive girl with low self-confidence, who learned the importance of self acceptance and moving forward. She also became a little more assertive, especially when dealing with the men giving her grief, as shown when she flipped off her father, stood up to Takaoka, scared off Ren, and crushed bullies in video games. And that’s not mentioning her terrifyingly iconic performance during the civil war arc.

Gakushuu on the other hand, started off as an arrogent, manipulative, competitive jerk who saw everyone else–including his own classmates–as beneath him, though he wasn’t the type to deploy underhanded tactics like his father. He later grew to realize just how flawed his father’s teaching methods were and that he does in fact care about his classmates, to the point where he swallows his pride and asks Class E for help. He also came to respect 3E as worthy rivals and (reluctantly) admitted that his battles against them made his own abilities grow by leaps and bounds.

All this would make for an interesting dynamic worthy of being explored even if we aren’t taking the romantic route. They’ll definitely disagree on some things, but not to the point of head-butting (especially given Yukiko’s nature), but they can learn so much from one another. Yukiko can teach Gakushuu the importance of kindness, empathy, and letting loose every once in a while Gakushuu can teach her the importance of networking, utilizing family status and connections, and forgoing niceties in certain situations.

But since this is me, we ARE taking the romantic route. So buckle up, fellow gakuyuki enjoyer, because we have:
