we have to be silly together it's an imperative i can't do this alone
Trauma does crazy things to your brain: cognitive gaps, inexplicable phobias, silence and shut down. But the soul is so resilient and capable. It has a way of healing around good people, safe communities, and the chance to be heard. Given the opportunity, we get up again.
All one can do is hope so

can’t wait to be a 40 year old woman who’s healed from her trauma and loves going grocery shopping and lives with lifelong but manageable mental illness. and gives people nice presents on their birthdays. and I’m looking forward to being 75 and sitting on the porch in the summer when the sun is shining.
as someone who didn’t plan on living past 18 i feel a sense of comfort knowing that i crave to be alive now more than ever. we’ve spent so long killing the world and ourselves along with it, i think its about time we start romanticizing living/existing and growing and healing

I don’t think you can talk about makeup politically without talking about economic oppression. Women are expected to spend thousands a year on cosmetics (and other stuff likeclothing, health supplements, etc) when men aren’t. This isn’t just because of social pressure, it’s required by employers implictly or explicitly the majority of the time. Women are expected to put in an extra hour, if not more, work every day for no compensation before they even leave the house. Class society props up everything else
