Bangtan’s newest album release ‘MAP OF SOUL: PERSONA’ with the title track ‘작은 것들을 위한 시 (Boy With Luv) feat. Halsey’ will be made available on the 12th of April for physical and digital purchasing. It is our highest priority to show support in as many ways as possible and within this post is everything you need to know in order to support our boys.
Purchasing ‘MAP OF SOUL: PERSONA’ physical copies through various online sites
The Hanteo Chart and Gaon Chart are two chart systems that are crucial in an artist’s release as they reflect the physical sales of the album.
Hanteo measures the real-time sales of albums which is then used in the point system of weekly music shows under Physical Sales.
Gaon measures the total shipments of the album copies distributed from the record labels and distributors and is reflected in year-end award shows (this chart closes every Sunday at 12AM KST and is updated every Thursday).

Make sure that when ordering albums online, a Hanteo Chart symbol can be found on the site.

DIGITAL SALES AND STREAMING
Melon is one of the major music distributors in South Korea (together with Genie, Bugs, and Mnet) in which streams are reflected in Korean real-time digital charts.
However, to be able to stream and download music through MelOn, you will need to verity your account which requires a South Korean phone number or an i-Pin. (When an account is not verified, you will see ‘본인 미확인’ next to it).
Due to these restrictions, international fans who do not have an active South Korean phone number and/or are not based in South Korea will not be able to verify their accounts.
THEREFORE, we suggest streaming music on other South Korean music sites such as Genie, Bugs, or Soribada as these are also counted in the charts.
NOTE: For most of these sites, you will also need to purchase streaming passes, connect to a South Korean VPN and change your Google Play Store/App Store’s country/region

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! Details include step by step on how to find and stream the album for it to chart correctly.
As long as you purchase a streaming pass, and your songs stream correctly IT DOES COUNT toward any digital points for music shows.
iTunes store allows user to buy and stream songs which, in return, will be reflected in various charts in different countries.
For users based in the US, Canada, and UK, it is suggested to buy the tracks separately instead of purchasing the album at once to ensure its reflection in singles charts such as the Billboard Hot 100. The title track should be the highest priority when purchasing.
Note: Although it is possible to change your iTunes Store to US, it is not possible to purchase a song or an album if you do not have a valid US-issued credit card or payment method.
You can, however, ask to be gifted a song from someone from the US to help Bangtan get on the Billboard 200 (Albums) and Billboard Hot 100 (Songs) charts.
Spotify and Apple Music are both subscription-based music streaming services where streams are crucial in several esteemed charts.
Note: Only US account streams are reflected in the Billboard’s US Hot 100, Billboard 200, and other US-related charts. However, streams from different countries are also as essential as those are reflected in global charts.
Spotify can be used to stream even without a paid subscription (you can use the PC/MAC version of Spotify to play the songs as you please as opposed to randomly in the app’s mobile version). However, new users are given a free month of premium subscription. Using a different unsubscribed email address is also a way to get another free premium trial.

The charting for Spotify and Billboard opens on Fridays 12am EST and closes Thursdays 11:59pm EST.
Remember: Subscription based streams will weigh more than free streaming accounts.

YOUTUBE (MUSIC VIDEO STREAMING)
YouTube views are included in determining a song’s place in Billboard’s charts. Here’s how the figures are determined:
1,500 Youtube streams = 10 track sales = 1 album sale
The amount of views also contribute to music show scores in The Show, M! Countdown, and Inkigayo.
Here are a few simple tips increase the views as well as the social rating of the music video:
Watch the official video uploaded on the iBighit channel.
Play the music video from start to finish in 720p or above.
Have the sound above 50% on the YouTube player.
Do not just click the the ‘replay’ button or simply refresh the page as the views will be considered as spam. Search again on a new browser/tab.
If you put the MV in a continuous playlist, make sure to clear your history/cookies every once in a while so that each view will count.
Please note that it is not advisable for users to watch the video in incognito mode as this does not allow YouTube to count the views correctly.
Do not forget to leave comments, like the video, and share on different social media platforms (e.g Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Click on the 내스타 응원하기 button (with the pink heart next to it). You can only click on it once a day.
If you are not currently registered on the fancafe, here is a tutorial to do so! There is no tutorial on leveling up as sharing of answers is forbidden.
Share, Like, and Comment on contents from BigHit and/or BTS
Make sure that you like, comment, and share posts from Bangtan’s official Facebook page.
Retweeting and clicking the like button on Bangtan’s (BTS_twt) as well as BigHit’s (bts_bighit/BigHitEnt) tweets are some of the fastest ways to show support.
Clicking the links on news articles posted by BigHit regarding the boys and reacting to the source article is also suggested.
Sending sweet and supportive messages to Bangtan via Twitter is also highly encouraged!
Searching on Korean News Sites
Searching 방탄소년단 or 방탄소년단 + song title (ex: 방탄소년단 작은 것들을 위한 시 or 방탄소년단 Boy With Luv ) on Korean search engines such as Nate or Naver helps generate buzz and gives the boys more recognition from the general public.
The best time to search in order to create a general hype would be:
after a news article about Bangtan is posted,
when teasers, music video, or album is released,
or even after a music show performance
