Aside of the knowledge with the subject Media and Information Literacy, being flexible is also one of the things I've learned.

We can't deny that sometimes, this subject is a bit hard to process yet you're adjusting and making other ways for the lesson to be more understandable.

I've learned to be flexible so that's what I did, I didn't just post something that is 'usual'. Instead, I made something that I am confident and comfortable doing because we should not just think inside the box, but we should also consider every sides of it and making it more 'yourself'.

And I thank Ms. Lissa for allowing us to create things freely, and for allowing us to be ourselves.

[My Reflection for the First Quarter

There's a red rose laying on a top of a newspaper on my bedside table.

A newspaper that was made only for me, and the headlines of it caught my attention.

"Happiness looks good on you, my Love" it says

I don't even know what to feel, I stare at the wall trying to figure out if this is real but the sound of the doorbell startled me.

There's a package.

"Oh my God, Stella. Chill" I said while smiling like an idiot

I excitedly put the fancy box on the sofa.

Biting my lips, feeling all the butterflies on my stomach.

The content of the box makes my heart flutter. It is full of handwritten letters, my medium close shot with him when we went to Palawan for a vacation, and last but not the least, our favorite chocolate.

"What an effort, huh?" I whispered to myself while patting my hot cheeks.

I proudly handed the magazine to my mother to show my hardworks in the field of modelling.

"What did your Make-up Artist do to your face? It looks so horrible" my mother said to me

I glanced at the magazine, I look pretty fine though, but I guess she just doesn't like it. She just doesn't like me.

It's okay.

We went to the mall, she suddenly walked fast.

I don't even have to think why.

Because when we were passing by at the appliances store, she saw my face on the television.

I am sure that she's so sick of it.

Last week, we badly need to go home. While she was driving, she saw my face on the billboard. She turned left, changed her direction, and drive away.

I painfully smiled.

Yesterday, she asked her assistant to delete the ads on her phone.

And I heard what she said.

"I keep seeing Stella's face all over the internet, I would rather not use any gadgets, if I could only" she said with a sigh

I never ask why

because

I already knew the answer.

“you should eat more”

You look like a bamboo stick

“you should eat less”

You look like a pig 

If you’re underweight, it’s fine.

If you’re overweight, it’s still fine.

 We shouldn’t change ourselves just because people told us to do so, and the only thing that really need to change is the people’s mindset.

 You don’t need a validation from anyone;

Choosing yourself over anything won’t make you less human.

Just do what you love, and love what you do.

She saw herself on a newspaper.

“I am missing” she said to herself feeling happy.

Walking in the dark alley, Stella heard a familiar voice coming from the radio.

“If you are hearing this, Stella. Please come back” said by a middle-aged woman; her mom.

“I miss you” her mom’s voice cracked.

Stella did not feel sad. Instead, she just smiled.

Stella saw her Mom on the screen; begging.

“Stella, Please, Please come home” she said with her sobs in between.

“You are the only one I have”

“I love you, my baby girl”

When I was there, you never noticed me.

When I was there, you never even said “I love you”.

You made me feel that I was just ‘nothing’.

Her teardrops fell, so does the rain.

“Oh, it is raining… again” as she looks at the window while putting her art materials back on a big black box. Washing herself up, her smile had not even faded at the sight of her hands and arms all covered up with stain.

Walking in circles “What am I going to do next, hmmm?” she said to herself.

“Coffee? Maybe” she mumbles; Adding four spoonful of creamer on her cup.

She’s busy thinking about the things she did the whole day “Nothing is new, it is still plain and boring” chuckling at her thoughts, she suddenly remembered her cat.

“Where are you, Twinkie?” she asked with a cold voice, seeing that there is no sign of her lovely mixed black and white cat.

She turned her gaze on the sofa and found Twinkie “There you are” she whispers; carefully sits beside Twinkie whose sleeping like an angel.

She glanced at her cat “What a nice day huh?” with a fake smile plastered on her face.

“Meow” Twinkie replied, as if she understands the sarcasm behind her smile.

She is so sick of all the same old routine.

Days, months, years passed,

but she still could not complain.

There is no option.

No Mass Media.

So,

Living is her only choice.

She’s living because she needs to survive,

not because she wants to.

She’s looking for someone to see her worth, not knowing she doesn’t have to find because she’s worthy enough already.

She wants to feel something,

but she’s already numb.

Escaping the reality while gazing at the moon and the stars, especially when the midnight breeze brushes her pale skin.

But she couldn’t really escape.

The thoughts in her head are much louder than the volume of a song.

“One day, all the pain will go away” she’s wondering, when is that ‘one day’?

Will it ever come?

She’s not expecting to get things better, anymore.

But deep down, ‘hoping’ is still existing.

Her eyes are cold as ice.

Her smiles are pure and warm, but it never lasts.

Life is so exhausting.

She’s tired of being alive.

She is me.

I want to rest,

Forever.

But that’s not possible.

I have to survive.
