Better to be a spirit in Heaven. [Event]
It was interesting, to wonder how the Pariah had ended up near death. Did it tumble off the side of a roof? Whatever the event was, the fiend had found itself impaled on a broken rebar, near death. The old man raised his right hand up to the beast's head and... begun to absorb it globule by globule.
And just like that... life. The old man felt life for the first time in days. It was funny really, to feel alive as the decay set in around everywhere else. His posture fixed itself and he stood upright; colour returned to part of his hair, as wrinkles disappeared. The elderly was young again.
Is it wasn't for the right half of his body being hideously disfigured, you'd almost mistake him for a normal man. He opened his eyes - all of them - his right arm suddenly spying every direction available.
One exit was trapped by the sights of even more Pariahs, obviously drawn to the smell of their dead brother... perhaps with revenge in mind. And in the other direction, someone was running, also followed by their own horde of beasts.
When they entered the small clearing the junction provided Magusar greeted them with a nod, doing well to hide the pain he was just in. He spoke clearly, with perfect dictation:
"It seems... that you and I appear to be trapped together. So for the time being, would you be willing to be 'partners'?"
"As of late I have found myself wondering about many things, most to do with how this world and mine differ. Currently, I find myself wondering how it is possible to have iced cream that tastes like strawberries."

Ā Ā The evening fall chill and quietly with the crickets beginning their shrill night song. Threeās eyes fluttered open, feeling goose bumps pimpling her skin. Her hair had grown since her nap, hanging well past her knees. Goodness, if she left it alone any longer than itād soon cover the ground! She stood up slowly, making sure her scissors were still entwined with her fingersāsnip snip snip. All was well. Heels clacked against the cold concrete as she hobbled back towards the pit of a home she was given to live in. It reminded her of all the times she fought bad guys with her sisters, sleeping in shoddy abodesā⦠Thump!
Ā Ā Ā āAh⦠whatās this? A dying star only scatters across the black. They canāt be stitched togetherā¦ā Three murmured listlessly, her reminiscence disintegrating. Poof! There it goes! The Intoner hardly flinched when a strange man suddenly grabbed at her skirts, but instead latched onto her long hair, nearly pulling her down. She caught herself up a few inches before their foreheads collided and slouched over like a dangling rag doll.
āIām listening⦠Proceed with your requestā¦ā Three yawned in his face. Such a wondrous day for her to put this much effort even though she hadnāt use for wizened hair!Ā Her gaze never left him, digging pass his wrinkled skin. The lilac of her eyes carried an eerie glow as she suddenly snipped off a lock of the manās wizened white hair. Wispy and soft. No, no, no⦠Nothing like her old discipleās coarse hair at all. āI can hear it⦠a strange, draining sound from you.ā
The woman was strange. From her limp posture to the way she spoke, Magusar couldn't shake the feeling this woman was more than the eyes revealed. It didn't take a genius of course, but even with his body in its current state the old fart wasn't stupid enough to overlook this sort of thing. Still, it didn't matter as long as she agreed to help him. He opened his mouth and begun to croak his request.
"Yes, the request... Not ten... not ten feet from here... in that alley... a fence. There is a... dying animal behind it. I beg you, bring it to me. I'll give you... anything..."
Snip.
The woman had suddenly cut a lock of his hair off; she had been carrying scissors. Through his single revealed eye he watched half surprised at the woman's actions. No... he paid more attention to her reaction to his hair. Was it disappointment? Boredom? This child seemed to focus on the hair of the being more than the person it seemed.
The man moved his arms around her's, partly to use her as support as his legs continued to degenerate, but more so to force the woman to follow him. He'd work with any demon, as long as they somehow managed to aid him.
"I am sure... what you are hearing is but your own imagination..."
Or was it? Perhaps she really did hear the man's life slip through his fingers...

There were a few things that Ray expected to experience in this city: meeting crazy teddy bears, gushing over cowboys, and seeing glimpses of the goddamn Batman himself. One thing he didnāt expect, and probably should have, was a decrepit old man throwing himself onto him.
The force was enough to make Ray hobble backwards a bit and instinctively wrap his long arms around the stranger in a tight and awkward hug
"W-Whoa buddy! Ya alright? Ya look like ya were gonna fall there"
Of course Ray was gonna be concerned about someone he never met before, he was Ray, the guy who saved the Earth by listening to other peoples emotional problems. How could he not be helpful?
"A favor? U-Uh sure guyā¦how bout we get ya somethin ta eat too, ya lookin awful sick there"
They agreed. The old man's heart almost leapt in joy, though the very real possibility of overexerting himself somehow managed to contain his excitement.
The old man started nodding his head profusely in agreement. Perhaps a meal afterwards would be something to consider, still this was not the time to think. He loosened the grip on the man, though luckily the strangely long arms of his saviour provided the stability he needed.
A single finger reached out towards the fence the man had just stumbled out from and with it a hacking choke managed to whisper something.
"Behind the fence... there's an injured cat, it seems to... have been caught in a fight. Could you, bring it to me? Please..."

The chainlink fence was impenetrable to the withered old man. His worn out arms couldn't even take his feet off the ground, let alone provide him with the lift he needed to get him over it. It infuriated him to no end, and at the same time it worried him.
Time was running out.
His skeletal fingers reached out for a cane he had laid earlier against the fence, and he hobbled towards the pedestrian path as quickly as he could. Every step felt as if his bones had become charcoal and could crumble apart at any moment. A single eye that was not hidden under his wispy hair darted left and right looking for someone - anyone who could help him.
Them. There. They would do.
He dropped the cane and flung himself towards the person in question with as much force as he could; grabbing desperately to their clothes as he refused to look up, showing naught but his snow white hair to his chosen saviour.
"A f-favour..." he choked out, as if speaking alone caused him great pain, "A favour if you may... I beg of you."
