nereid worms (Alitta sp.) prowling the tidal mudflats

nereids and other predatory polychaete worms (such as bobbit worms) are related to earthworms but have a more complex brain, leg-like parapodia, eyes, antennae, and sharp retractable jaws for grasping prey. I think of them as marine centipedes.

normally they stay out of sight buried in the mud, so I was a bit surprised to see these ones crawling out in the open, various smaller invertebrates scrambling out of the way to avoid becoming the worms’ next meal.

Went to the reopening of a used fiber arts supply store in my town that burned down last year and ran into 3 people i really like and they were playing one of my favorite songs and i got a wicker basket pretty yarn a bunch of fabric a bobbin and a bandana making kit all for $20

I like my job but I am wishing I had a fake email job so I could get 1000 dollars and have more energy and time + be able to give my cat more attention and I want to learn metalworking I just found a cool artist who makes metal bug jewelry I want to make little metal bugs. Or other types of bugs I want to make giant things to put on my ceiling what mediums are there for that

when i was a small kid, the latios and latias movie was my favorite, but i wildly miscomprehended it. i was very bad at understanding stories as a small child. if you had asked me what the lore was, i would have said, latios is a pokemon thats power is that it has one wish to save the world. it activates this power, and no matter what danger the world is in, the world is saved. but each latios can only use it once, and then the latios will die. latias does not have this gift, but it exists to give birth to a new latios after the previous one dies. When i was a preteen i started writing a story on a forum called Lily of the Valley about a latias named lily who was shackled in a lab to this armor plating and forced by scientists to kill pokemon and people against her will. she broke out of the lab one day and flew down through the verdant valley outside where she was greeted by a lot of kind wild pokemon like sentrets. there was no real plot in mind. it was for her to fly around in the wind rippled grass and for her to be free
