Another point from Representation no one talks about a thread:
When Argos asked Kagami, “Do you think she can be trusted?” I felt really annoyed. Marinette hadn’t done anything to him, yet he had the audacity to pass judgment. It was Felix who had broken Marinette’s trust in the worst possible way and betrayed her. He was the one who had done everything wrong, while she had not given him any reason to doubt her trustworthiness. It just seemed hypocritical for him to be the one judging her.
seriously? Ladybug literally killed the sentimonster in front of his eyes and he even asked for forgiveness for not being able to save. I think Felix is well aware of how she dealt with a lot of them and hates her and doesn't trust her for it.
Felix himself, due to his trauma cannot trust people and considers everyone a danger to himself. Did you miss his monologue? because of fear, he acted so radically and wanted to destroy everyone except those close to him
It’s crucial to bear in mind that Shadow Moth had misused the Peacock Miraculous in the past. Nevertheless, Felix got hold of it in the season 4 finale. Before Gabriel fixed the Peacock Miraculous in Truth, Nathalie, aka Mayura, employed it for malicious intentions in a few instances. Ladybug had unpleasant encounters while battling sentimonsters before the Peacock Miraculous switched ownership.
Revisit earlier episodes of the show, which depict Hawk Moth and Mayura having a negative perception of sentimonsters. Although it takes a while, Nathalie eventually begins to view Adrien differently.
If anyone tries to defend Felix’s supposed good intentions, I must disagree. He never thought about the risk posed to Adrien and the entire city of Paris when Gabriel recklessly utilized the Miraculouses.
Felix, despite knowing that his uncle had attempted to kill him, provided him with enough ammunition to destroy Paris and make life unbearable for its inhabitants and the world.
Felix Stans and Apologists’ point of view and my inputs
I anticipate that there will be a Felix stan and apologist who will argue that teaming up with Shadow Moth was the only way he could save his and Adrien’s lives. However, everything Felix did in “Risk” and “Strike Back” was not solely for Adrien’s benefit. The only useful advice he gave Adrien in “Risk” was to stand up to Gabriel.
Why should he trust Ladybug?
If Ladybug had known that he was a sentimonster, he might have thought that she would kill him as she did to the others. She couldn't have destroyed him since she didn't possess the Peacock Miraculous. Furthermore, Maribug is not the type of individual who would harm someone else.
She fights against them because they are destroying the city or harming people. Was Felix doing that? She is supposed to be a hero, of course, she would help. I believe he was self-centered and did everything for his benefit. Even if he thought he was protecting Adrien, he was endangering everyone else.
Felix callously abandoned his cousin Adrien, whom he professed to care for, along with an entire city, to the whims of his criminal uncle. He and his mother then left for London, without a single thought about the consequences of his actions.
I’ve watched Strike Back, Emotion, Pretension, and Representation, and I have to admit that Felix never acknowledges his past behavior or expresses any regret. Instead, he solely talks about senti-beings and gets the “girlfriend will fix him” treatment. If you don’t believe me, I suggest rewatching Pretension and Representation again.
In “Emotion,” Felix returns after causing chaos in “Strike Back” after several weeks to eliminate his uncle. Unfortunately, his plans do not go as intended, and he proceeds to eliminate attendees at the Diamond Ball and eventually the entire population of Paris. Even though not all Parisians posed a threat to him, he still chose to eradicate them anyway.
He committed genocide, and only ceased his actions when he realized he had mistakenly snapped Marinette out of existence and could not bring her back. However, what he didn’t know at the time was that Marinette was Ladybug when he snapped her away, which explained why he was unable to bring her back. Even if he wanted to, he was unable to do so. It was at the insistence of Adrien and Kagami that Argos eventually brought everyone back.
Ladybug, in the third season, was convinced that sentimonsters are dangerous only when they are under control. She gave freedom to the sentibug and talked to her, and she, having her own choice, even went over to their side. And after this episode, she continued to kill them, as if nothing had happened.
And she doesn't need a peacock to take their lives.
Ladybug did not kill Sentibug; Mayura did. Rewatch the episode for reference.
Mayura snapped Sentibug out of existence like it was nothing.
Before the Ladybug episode, she had no knowledge that sentimonsters possessed sentience.
It is conceivable that she experienced remorse upon uncovering the information and may have regretted terminating the lives of the other beings. As a result, she might have opted to give back their Amok objects, thereby granting them their freedom.
Perhaps the phrase “bye-bye little feather” does not equate to “I extinguish your existence.” Ladybug’s approach may allow the Amok to survive, albeit without its monstrous manifestation.
Every time Ladybug says “bye-bye little feather”, she doesn’t have a choice.
Technically, those cases would be classified as acts of self-defense. The sentimonster and Akuma are after the miraculous to use it for dangerous purposes, so giving it to them is not an option. They won’t stop chasing after her until she runs out of energy or has to de-transform back.
Conclusion: Either fight or face certain death - there’s no other option.
ML fans watching Pennybug teleport Strike Back into the Sun (It’s not the same).
I mean, Strike Back was used to kill citizens and chaos mass destruction in Paris.
There wasn’t much of a choice for her since they had already destroyed most of the city.
It’s quite amusing to see the double standard in action, considering that a similar situation could have occurred during Sentibubbler.
What would happen if Shadow Moth thought that Sentibubbler was not a threat and left him alone? Would Ladybug allow Sentibubbler to stay, or would she need to purify his amok? Ladybug would definitely choose the latter option.
Where did I say that Ladybug killed the sentibug? I said that in this episode she learned that the sentimonstra are living beings and are dangerous only if they are under the influence of control. She gave her amok and after that the sentibug made her own choice and stood up against the villain. Even if it ends tragically in the end. This moment would be a good reason for her to think about the sentimonsters, but no, she seemed to have forgotten about this episode and decided to continue killing them without any thoughts. If they're destroying the city at Gabriel/Natalie's will, then it's definitely their fault and they deserve to die. And after that, it annoys you that Felix does not trust Ladybug, knowing that she does not put them in anything and considers them just a threat, a thing, a tool.
