(Remember when I posted that Jimbun doodle and said I was getting better? Well that was January and we're entering March now and I'm still sick 🫠 I'm getting it looked out but aside from a side issue a blood test show there hasn't been much improvement and I'm even too fatigued and weak to draw right now... It's being hard, cause I was really looking forward to it after my hand's surgery, but there's not much I can do besides rest. So at least enjoy this lil gift I made, the very first thing I drew after recovering from my surgery)

Even such a rough sketch would have taken me hours before surgery, now I can do it in less than an hour 😩 I'm so happy to see the surgery working! I'm still not at 100% so I have to pace myself a lil but going strong! 💜✨

Now, idk what this is exactly, but I think I'm digging it.

I've been on a break this December, because I desperately needed one for many reasons, but today I woke up feeling energised and wanting to draw. So I went to my laptop, started idly doodling, thinking of how the Vulcan version of the hime cut would look like and this came out xD

You gotta know those dramatic bitches would take it to the mathematical extreme and you gotta love them for that 🙏💜

Warrior and Mother

I wanted to sketch something to warm up back into traditional and, going with the Vulcan women warriors mood, and thinking of those athletes that are competing in the Olympics little after giving birth or while still breastfeeding, this came into existence.

I'm borrowing @ex--astris--scientia idea that I love that Vulcans wear their babies in slings below their chest placing their heads where the Vulcan heart is so they can hear their heartbeats 💜

Also; Vulcan babies are born naturally hairy, with quite long, fine and soft hair like the human lanugo but more abundant, from the shoulders down the forearms and back, the lower part of the happy trail of the tum tum and legs. Some time later they lose the baby hair and it doesn't grow back again till puberty.

When taking the new pictures the light made some interesting highlights in the sketch ✨

Who do I know that speaks a language other than English?

I've just been thinking about how the internet makes it so easy to find people to chat with in another language, but instead we all talk in English all the time.

I am so out of practice, I'm not even ready to try chatting myself; I am working on reading some Spanish fics though so maybe someday! But I know I have some moots who speak other languages who would like to chat (about Star Trek perhaps?) in those languages.

If you are interested in chatting with a tumblr acquaintance in a different language, can you reblog this with the language you want to chat in? You could be a native speaker or a language learner!

I'm a native Spanish speaker and I'm always up to talk about Trek in Spanish cause I don't get to do it often x3

But also in response to why we all speak in English to me it's another form of (modern) western colonialism, where English is said to be the "universal language" and pushed as the norm or the only option in many instances, even when there are other languages, like Chinese or Spanish, that are spoken by more people worldwide. As someone who's been a freelance artist also managing their social media and everything else, you see yourself forced to adapt to English if you want a more international reach. I always tried to include other languages I spoke, like Spanish and French but, working on your own and with so much to do all the time, it becomes a very taxing chore and you might end up going back to just English out of lack of energy and resources.

And that happens with literally everything, like how, as an ND person, I usually have to use English to document myself especially about the last updates and developments on neurodivergent research. It's a slippery slope of individuals and small groups not having enough time or resources to adapt to other languages (for some especially native English speakers sometimes it doesn't even cross their minds) and big ones and mega corporations just not wanting to spend the money on it. And it has gotten so much worse with the rise of LLMs and bullshit "genAI" dubbing and translations e.e

Anyway! Sorry for the lil rant but yeah, let's speak and learn other languages! That'll never be something bad if we actively want to do it (and we're not being forced)!
