Details.
On nights like these, it’s the details you miss most. His profile; the way his nose slopes away from his strong face and his creamy porcelain skin you were always jealous of. His scent that lingered in your bed after he’d gotten up before you to make breakfast. The way he held you when you were finally alone, resting his head on you and dropping his weight, pulling you down or backwards when he hugged you, his hair falling all around your face. His explosive laugh that only happened when he was especially open and comfortable, at home with you and your family. And how it created the only smile that actually touched his eyes. And he was so funny. Towards the end he made you laugh more. Why was that? You miss being filled with so much laughter and adoration for someone. How long until you feel ok with the idea of letting someone else make you feel that way? A while you decide. He became a part of you so fast and he’s impossible to let go of even now. You even laugh at the idea of letting him fade. How could he?
I swear this was in my dream once.
