It’s All Might’s birthday!

I’m always into the assholes, so I’m surprised at how much I gravitated towards such a positive and gentle character. Maybe if I’m exposed enough to him and what he’s meant to represent, I can become a better person myself.

Toshinori Yagi (All Might) from My Hero Academia

As silly as it is to some people, hearing All Might say this phrase (or thinking of him saying it) has actually inspired me on numerous occasions–there’s something so genuinely soothing and grounding about it that it cancels out the noise and brings everything into focus. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same, but that strength in front of adversity is what I wanted to capture here.

Despite everything–his failing body, the fear inside of his heart–he is here, protecting you. It’s an immense burden, one that he takes on willingly for your sake and everyone elses. He is the Symbol of Peace! And I respect and love his character so much for it.

I’m very happy with how this came out, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to draw something with such meaning behind it. I hope you’ll like it too! You can get it on Etsy here.
