He doesn't change much, but he considered the LIs career and little hints of their lifestyle in their bio, so he made subtle changes of their body and default outfits. He gave you a hint of callouses on your hands, gave you your deserved muscles from the training as a hunter and swapped your long flowy hair to your now signature battle-ready bun. He doesn't shy away from imperfections of a human in his redesigns, resonating at spiritual level with Vyonne that he insisted on adding the eyebags on her redesign because he knew how tiresome being a doctor is. He's just a fan who loves the characters and he's doing this for fun, but his posts attract unexpected attention and love from the growing fandom that the devs DMed him to ask if they could use some of his designs for the official release. He was credited as concept artist for the game under his online alias.
Now, imagine Rafayel, who is already a famous artist of his own rights yet has no shame no foul in claiming the top Fanart artist title of the fandom. He is the one the devs would commission/collaborate with for large events, and you bet your ass he put his soul into each work, despite not really maining everyone else but you.
