I might not remember your name later But I will remember the taste of your skin beneath my lips The drip of the moon against your hips I might not remember your birthday But I will remember the lines you drew into my back And the way the sky would open when you laughed I might not remember all your truths But I will remember the preciseness of your lies And how they set my soul on fire I might not remember your face But I will remember the strum of your voice in the back of my throat And the very first time you just sat and watched me choke

any time black people, like real live breathing black people, get anywhere near kpop folks be up in arms i swear to god ya’ll be ready to box and kick rocks
firstable you can’t be nonblack and thinking you can tell black people when they can and cannot talk about antiblackness whenever they see it. like that’s just not your place. you can’t be like “well i’m of this race and im offended talking by you all talking about yall being offended by my people”. the nature of antiblackness is very global, so a discussion about antiblackness is always on time ya feel me
secondist you cant just be sittin here like “antiblackness in kpop is not the issue here” when it is. alexandra being a prop for a kpop group is not okay. black people have good reason to be skeeved (at the company to be clear) by alexandra’s sudden appearance (and lack of screen time) in a kpop group. like there’s a reason why they picked a girl that looked and sounded like her… her look is very “IN” right now ie jhene aiko tinashe zendaya etc. matter of fact it’s always been in but it’s very in rn. you know what im saying, just follow along if you can. there is an issue with the fact that there are mixed race black-korean girls in korea who could have easily been offered her spot. but the way that kpop tends to appropriate is very formulaic lmao. nothing is ever out of the ordinary or surprising, it’s all stuff that’s been done before even if the industry is 4 years behind the wave. alex’s look and sound is v popular right now, she’s a great candidate for a group who’s mission was to be a global group. but like i said, there are plenty of mixed race black folks in korea who could have done the job. that’s a real issue to be discussed
the thing that gets me is that this is not even what yall are talking about yall are talkin about foreigners trying to snake their way into the industry as a whole. listen here if youre gonna sit here and put a black woman who was asked to join a group in a huge ~western~ blanket as an UGLY white boy who paid his way into the industry im gonna need for you to step allll the way off that platform that you’re on because it seems like you don’t even got the basics down. they are not the same; chad future being more of a KoreaIsKpop type fetishist while alex didn’t even seem to really know what kpop was really about prior to joining the group.
to imply that alex joining the kpop industry is going to somehow make people fetishize korea w/rt/ kpop more is ridiculous. people were doing that before alex joined and they’re going to be doing it well after. she’s not going to change much. have you realized that this girl is BLACK and is actually more likely to receive unnecessary amounts of criticism and asking of people her to leave than praise?? i mean yall already doing it right now
ANYWAYS , IN THE END it is antiblack and sus as hell that alex was asked to join a kpop group, but black folks is trynna be happy for her and encourage her and give her our best wishes but we cant even do that when yall raggedy mfs over here trynna make it seem like it’s a real issue that she’s here. that it’s somehow her fault that kpop is racist and appropriates black culture so hard to the point that they would ask a thin, light skinned, light-eyed, mixed black girl to join a kpop group so that they can use her for connections and to boast their image when they could have easily picked someone else from korea who fit the bill. the whole reason alex is there is so that they can appeal to other people outside of the general kpop fan audience, she is literally being used for her blackness like yall cannot miss that it’s so obvious. yes the appropriation/antiblackness is relevant to this issue alex is like ….the peak appropriation. kpop already got the clothes, the music, the dance, the aave…. shit the company just went and appropriated an entire person lmao. tbh black people have been anticipating this for some time, it was just a matter of who was gonna be the first to do it. honestly i’m v surprised, i placed my bet on YG.
then they gone say “the black aesthetic” i swor yall gettin on my nerves lol.
