i love this bit from henry's letter so much because of what a small detail it is to notice about alex and yet it speaks volumes on how much the image of Sad Alex Pouting and Drinking By Himself in a Hotel Bar has just. impacted and stuck with Henry to the extent that it's a detail significant enough to remember and come out in his letters. it's one of the first times henry's properly witnessed alex's facade and bravado falter and crack a little and it's never left him

okay it’s been a few hours since I’ve read it and now that I’m through (temporarily) weeping I am able to process the smaller details Casey McQuiston included in Henry’s letter to Alex, one of which is the sheer hilarity of Alex canonically owning socks that have Santa Claus wearing a cowboy hat on them. and that’s only just the beginning because apparently this man literally owns an itemized holiday sock collection and I have so many questions. like what else is there? is it a holiday sock advent calendar? who else is featured? what other emblematic holiday symbols are adorned with texan paraphernalia? how did he come to build such an intricate collection? and what does ‘itemized’ mean in this context? what are they itemized by???

I mean. what a blasphemous icon. I simply have no words
