“Anyone interested in buying an ancient magical artifact? Got one for half-price...”
sacred-fires:
He’s been getting that a lot recently. He shakes his head with a sigh.
“I am Turaga Vakama, and I could say the same to you.”
“You don’t get many humans around here?” She knelt down so as to not give the two of them neck cramps from trying to keep eye contact.
“Well, pleased to meet you, Turaga Vakma. I’m Shiloh, and I hope I’m not intruding.” Getting skewered by a tikki-lookalike for trespassing is not on her to-do list, thank you.
onewhoseesallevil:
“.. As do you. “ She retorts. Azami could not pinpoint where the woman could even come from as she looked her over in silent analyzation, while never looking at the others face directly.
Such eccentric and colourful attire compared to what she has seen in the past.
“ Whom exactly are you? “
“Oh, I guess that was rude of me.” The young thief gave a friendly smile, offering a hand in apology. “My name’s Shiloh, Miss. And you are...?”

“Ah... Well preferably a good long life, but it’s the quality not quantity, yeah? Eheh...” She’s not even going to be insulted by the ‘insect’ comment, since... clearly that was a valid comparison with this thing.
“Though I at least certainly hope I’m one of those pretty insects!”

“...Pardon me, M’um, but this is the third time I’ve seen you around these demolished sites, and you don’t strike me for a construction worker.” Admittedly, she was there seeing if she could pilfer anything of value from the rubble, but that was a minor detail.
finnthehelper:
Finn quickly stumbled to a stop once he rounded the corner, making sure there was some space between them as he didn’t want that dagger too close to his bod.
He raised his hands up, trying to show he meant no harm. “I don’t wanna fight you. I just… look. I saw what you did- how you gave that beggar a jewel? It’s a good cause and everything, but there’s other ways to help the poor that doesn’t involve stealing from people…”
“You... saw that?” Dammit. Shiloh sighed, shaking her head. “And you think I’m what, some sort of Robin Hood figure?” While normally she’d take the jump at an excuse like this, it wasn’t a rumor she wanted spread.
“Look, kid, I appreciate the confidence in my character, but I assure you that was an isolated incident. And I’m sure there are other ways, but this is what I’m best at. I assume you make a living using that sword of yours, yeah? Well you have your talents and I have mine.”
“Well there was a titan within Wall Sina recently, didn’t you hear? We dealt with it, but that was our handiwork. Those MP’s were still struggling to put on their gear harnesses by the time we were engaged in combat. They probably think we’re suicidal or just insane, but they have no idea just how vital our work really is.”
“Oh-! I do remember hearing the ruckus about it all! ‘Course the MP I asked about it all said it was their doing, but I’ve learned to take their boasts with a grain of salt.” She shrugged, though still looked impressed.
“Though I’ll admit, I hadn’t thought it’d be you guys, didn’t think you’d be this far inward! Usually it’s only the MP, fat nobles, and those wall nuts to worry about.”
“Consider yourself lucky… or unlucky, depending on how you view them.” In Hanji’s mind, seeing titans up close and personal was practically a blessing. But she knew too well how the rest of the people saw them: horrifying monstrosities that had to be destroyed. Chances are this girl felt the same way.
“Interesting you would say that. A very close comrade of mine also originates from there too.” She decided not to drop Levi’s name due to his shady means of being recruited. A random citizen need not know that information. The veteran couldn’t help but chuckle at her latter words.
“Oh, I know that all too well. We always have to things like that to appeal to the higher-ups to grant us things like decent budgets. Compared to other parts of the military, we’re not quite as fondly appreciated, y’know. Gotta make them think we’re not a waste of taxes.”
“That’s true, I’ve heard some of them talk about you guys... When someone’s trying to fluff their own ego, it’s funny some of the things they’ll say. ‘Course, if you’re out there fighting titans in person, you’ve all probably got more guts than most of these pampered jerks combined. Almost wish I could see them fight one, but that’d mean a titan being in the inner walls...”
finnthehelper:
“What?!”
“Dude, I’m not tryin’ to hook up with her, I’m tryin’ to- ugh! I need to talk to her about something wrong she did!” Finn blurted out quickly, trying to shove the guy’s hand away and get around him again when he noticed Shiloh getting away.
The man didn’t try and stop him this time, confused but figuring he’d let the two kids figure it out on their own. It wasn’t like he hadn’t been that age as well.
Cursing under her breath, Shiloh tried ducking behind one of the buildings before turning on her heel to face her pursuer once he rounded the corner, dagger drawn defensively. He was better than she thought, and knew losing him in the city would be highly difficult.
“Well...? What do you want, then? And don’t you dare try drawing that sword!”

“Well, you certainly have some... interesting fashion choices.”

“Deckers, huh? Gotta admit, don’t know much about you. Then again I’m not much into computers, more of a hands-on kind of girl myself.”
finnthehelper:
“I’m not gonna do anything, I just wanna-”
Finn was cut off when the man suddenly blocked his path, and the boy skidded to a halt.
“Uh… yeah, I’m tryin’ to talk to someone,” he answered, while attempting to move around the guy.
“...” The man sighed, leaning down to put a hand on Finn’s shoulder. “Look, kid, I’m sure you mean well- and I don’t blame you crushing on older women, but sometimes the chase just doesn’t bear fruit. I’m sure there are plenty of other women that would be interested in a strapping young man like you!” ...Clearly there’s been some lying miscommunication here.
The culprit in question was currently attempting to use the distraction to slip away again.
sacred-fires:
“…” He stares up at her, a little disturbed himself.
He’ll never get used to humans.
“Hello?”
“-Oh!” She started in surprise, not expecting the... thing... to speak. “Um, hello. Sorry to stare, but I’ve never seen anyone quite like you, before.”
kingfrozen:
He knew most fortune tellers were fake… But he could play along this once.
“I don’t see why not. Go ahead, kid.”
“Excellent! Please, sit down.” She withdraws the deck of cards for the reading, placing them on a nearby table.
“In order to get a more accurate reading, I’ll need a personal item of yours.”
prometheanpotential:
“Of course, but we do need to be wary of travellers…”
Truth be told, he doesn’t want to do this, but his town comes first.
“We…may need to search your pockets, it’s just that something went missing…”
Well, if it was something easy to notice it wasn’t her this time. And if these guys were so organized, then it might not be such a good idea to try.
“I understand.”
caged-scorpion:
“Look at that, close, but not there. Wanna keep trying? Or are you done?” He draws out the knife and returns it to her, sitting on a few boxes located behind them.
“You’re doing pretty well for what I saw earlier.”
“I think I’ll take a break for now, but I’ll definitely be practicing more! Thanks for the tips, best to learn from an expert.” Taking the knife and pocketing it, Shiloh hopped on a box across from him as well, kicking her legs slightly.
“So... does Mr. Tall Dark and Dangerous have a name? We got so carried away, I forgot to ask.”
