Boots frowned in sympathy for the other. “Oh no… It is almost fall. What… What do you need to stay warm?” Ideas were running through the girl’s head. Surely a simple jacket wouldn’t do.

First a demon, now a sea creature living in her bath tub. Well, maybe a pool would be better….

“I-i need warm water and shelter….or whatever you would use for a giant snake. ..”

Boots thought for a moment how to be accommodating… Then she got an idea.

“Well…I have an old indoor pool you can live in. It has temperature control… A roof… I can even buy some lights for you too…” The girl was stepping out of her range. She’s never taken care of a snake before. But the channel for communication here was a unique opportunity.

“Would you…like to come home with me?” The human girl smiled thoughtfully, hand out stretched as if to give and a handshake or maybe possibly pull her up onto the dock.

A small smile formed on her face. Sliding herself and her long serpent body forward , she embraced the girl in a hug “ yes please!!”

She giggled a bit, not fully understanding what she was getting herself into. But Boots returned the hug with all her might. And with her free hand, pulled out the whistle that hung around her neck.

Boots whispered to the enchanted whistle and the both of them fell through a portal. She held on tight, not wanting to let go. Until they both reappeared out of the portal and in…

“The bathroom…I was aiming for the pool just down the hallway, but this will do.” She laughed nervously. “Will the bathtub be okay for now? This is probably better once I get the pool room all properly set up…”

They were in the master bathroom, large and spacious with a very nicely size bath tub. The colors were bright and welcoming, a hint of flowers in the air.

Her long tail dragged behind her, leaving a slippery water trail. Slithering into the tub, her body rested with a thud.

Cocking her head to the side , she studied this girl in front of her. Leaning somewhat closer and sniffing her.

The silence gnawed at her nerves as she fell still upon the other’s approach.

“H-Hi. Do you have a name?…I’m Sarah…” She gave a half smile, still sincere as she contemplated things.

“ …” she remained silent. Why did creatures go by names anyhow? Did it show their personality? Well this snake isn’t going to be the norm! It’s not like she deserved to be given a name anyways. ..she’s never had a name.. strange.

“ n-no..”

Boots’ nose wrinkled in thought over having no name. But her smile only grew brighter as she leaned forward towards the other, any remaining fear melting away.

“Well that’s okay then. You can just be you. I go by a lot of names. But most call me Sarah.” She cheered happily. “Is this water your territory? I don’t mean to intrude…”

floop! went the waters edge as it rippled and divided as waves. The only reminiscent of the source was a dark shadow

Boots started, her hands clutching to the wood as she withdrew her legs from the water. What was that?? She looked out into the water, squinting through the shadows. But with her eyeglassed sight, she didn’t see anything. Her heart started racing as paranoid thoughts raced through her head. What was that?!?! She shrieked in her head as she drew in more towards the center of the dock. Was there something in the water? Was there another presence here? Had she made a mistake coming out here? The human girl flinched a bit, pulling her hand from the wooden boards. She eased too much pressure into her wrist as she recoiled from the water. She sighed out, looking at her aching wrist in the dark. But she looked back to the water, still curious what had disturbed the stillness she had taken comfort in.

The splash seemed to serve well enough of a distraction while the creature got up and close too close. Her black oily eyes peering into the others as the human girl turned around. Met with a humanoid girls face; a dark greenish tint and slick black dreadlike protrusions from her head which layed down her upper back. A somewhat crook to get head out of curiosity as she tried to understand the meaning of the humans reactions.

Boots sat on the edge of the dock, her toes dipping into the water. The sun had just set and she needed some time to clear her head. Fingers played with shoelaces beside her as she looked off into the horizon. What would it feel like to disappear?

A light ripple elevated itself as it manifested a figure, blurred by the waters surface but at the same time VERY dark ..and long? It was hard to see.The creature wondered who or what could be on their dock now? Some lost animal perhaps? Curiosity overtook her however and she decided to flick her tail ever so slightly so that a small jump of the water would district the humanoid enough for her to check.floop! went the waters edge.
