“my happy anchovy tears”

i have begun exploring how to convey my feelings & memories through my art (for the first time in a long time) which is how this piece came to be.•.•. it’s inspired by my visit to the sunshine aquarium in japan, by the vivid feelings i felt that day that i can still taste, & by the japanese anchovies that greeted me when i walked in

(˶ ᵔ ̫ ᵔ ˶) ♡ it was the beginning of the end for our stay in tokyo— i had been filled with a deeply bittersweet sadness all day, but once i was surrounded by all the different forms of beautiful marine life i had never seen before, including these little anchovies, that bittersweetness transformed into pure wonder~ tears welled up in my eyes many times inside the sunshine aquarium but they weren’t sad; i felt joyous again☆⌒.
