I'm putting Luxord on a hiatus.
I don't know when he'll be back. I'm feeling very disconnected from the muse.
Just know it's been fun, y'all.
"Lux, is that you?" Demyx leaned in for a closer look. "You're so tiny."
"Not by choice," he muttered. "Magick. And I’m unsure how long it will last."
"But you would be safer there," the younger insisted. "What if one of the Dusks comes along and decides to play with you?"
"Demyx, I'm short. Not useless." He frowned a little. "I know how to fight. I'm no less powerful."
"Lux, is that you?" Demyx leaned in for a closer look. "You're so tiny."
"Not by choice," he muttered. "Magick. And I’m unsure how long it will last."
A grin stretched the Nocturne’s face. “I could carry you around in my pocket.”
"Please do not treat me like a hamster..."
Unintentional Betrayal
”I am not happy.” His tone is weary. “And nothings going on. This—” A glance at the ring on his finger, “—-Is the result of extremely heavy drinking, upon which, I, and what turned out to be one of your many doppelgangers, drunkenly decided to go to Tortuga, play jenga with pirate ships, freeze the navy in time, and then…” He dropped his head.
"…..I thought it was you at the time. I meant to propose to you. And I fucked up.”
With a ring he’d had for quite some time, having planned on waiting and proposing when the time was right, he’d drunkenly proposed to the alternate Luxord instead. The man had been drunk enough to accept and they’d continued on making a merry drunken mess of things.
"I didn’t tell you because I’m trying to get this annulled. I don’t want to be married to him, Lux.” And he looks at the other man. He’d been honest with every word, even though he knew that the information probably wouldn’t soothe the situation very much. “I don’t want him, Lux. I love you.”
Luxord took a deep breath, listening to the story. The more he heard, the more he realized how he had over-reacted. And quite cruelly, throwing accusations at the Freeshooter.
"Annulled," he repeated softly. "Still, that doesn't change the fact that you proposed. Even when drunk, I'd think you have the sense to know the difference between myself and a copy. A clone, a doppelganger... Someone that wasn't me."
The blonde looked back at the ring in his hand. "Alas, I fear what may happen if it can't be done. If the annulment is impossible. Divorce? Perhaps. But... will things even be the same...?"
"Lux, is that you?" Demyx leaned in for a closer look. "You're so tiny."
"Not by choice," he muttered. "Magick. And I'm unsure how long it will last."
Unintentional Betrayal
He’d been confused when the brit had cornered him in his own bedroom, having been about to leave and go drop of his latest mission report, but complying with Luxord’s desire for him to sit down and listen.
That confusion had only grown as the man began what he viewed as a short, but emotional speech, face unreadable, and yet, he could see a gleam of excitement within those deep blue eyes. And then his lover reached into his pocket, Xigbar’s eye following the movement and feeling his heart plummet into his stomach at the sight of the small object.
A ring. And now the ring on his hand felt like it was made of stone, dread creeping up as the blond takes his hand and then pauses, a look of utter confusion on his face as he finds the band on the Freeshooter’s ring finger, an expression of guilt appearing on Xigbars face.
And when those Blue eyes set upon his face, seeing the disbelief and the betrayal within the mans gaze, Xigbar fails to find his voice, only drops his gaze to the floor, unable to continue eye contact, to hide the guilt he felt upon the discovery of what had been a drunken accident.
How was to say that he’d been drunk, and had proposed to what he’d thought was his lover, only to find that it’d been the doppelganger?
"…Lux…I…" He swallowed back a lump. "…I can..explain…" Raising his head to meet the others gaze again, hoping desperately that the man would allow for an explanation and wouldn’t just leave on the spot.
"Please, do," Luxord insisted, his hurt changing slowly to anger. "Please tell me how the an I thought loved me beyond all else is married. I'm sure it will be a wonderful tale. You seem to be fantastic at weaving them, since I have no idea how long you've been telling one to me!"
He pulled away from Xigbar, the ring still in hand, "Go on. I'm not going anywhere. Tell me exactly how long I've been falling victim to a silver tongue and golden eye. Tell me why you couldn't have just told me in the first place?"
A deep breath, and Luxord began to rebuild the mask that he normally wore. "Give me a reason, Xigbar. And I'll go. I'll leave. I'll let you be happy."
A Different Perspective
"Thanks. I’m still getting used to this new size."
"Is there anyway I can be of assistance?"
"Alas, I can think of nothing."
If you bite me, does it feel like a tiny prick or will it really hurt.
"Tiny prick? Like yours?"
"Think of it this way: Spiders are small, yet they can kill. Size does not matter when it comes to pain."
Vexen looks down at tiny Luxord. "What happened?"
"Gray Magick," Luxord grumbled, opening a miniature corridor that would put him up closer to Vexen.
"You could be mute as well, no one would know you were there…"
"You have a point." He nodded. "Though I assume that since this is the work of magick, you have no scientific way to cure me of this?"
Vexen looks down at tiny Luxord. "What happened?"
"Gray Magick," Luxord grumbled, opening a miniature corridor that would put him up closer to Vexen.
Vexen couldn’t help but chuckle. “I see. Well it could be worse, though.”
"Oh really? Do tell. I can hardly see how this can be worse."
Vexen looks down at tiny Luxord. "What happened?"
"Gray Magick," Luxord grumbled, opening a miniature corridor that would put him up closer to Vexen.
