Taxi Driver (1976)
A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes youâve made, opportunities youâve missed, people youâve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that itâs all a part of the process. Then you move on and live your best life, knowing now as old as you feel today, youâll never be this young again.
âI love you. Infinitely and inexpressibly. Iâve woken up in the middle of the night and here I am writing this. My love, my happiness.â â Â Vladimir Nabokov, from a letter to Vera (January 19, 1925), featured in âLetters To Veraâ by Vladimir Nabokov (Russian, 1899-1977)
Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay.

Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness and tenderness of our heart.
Rumi
âWe are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking.â
Santosh Kalwar
To love another is something / like prayer and canât be planned, you just fall / into its arms because your belief undoes your disbelief.

This year I have disappeared. Or I was never there. Or I was never here.
She breathed in the crisp autumn air, hoping the loveliness of nature would somehow cleanse her soul and overshadow her sorrow.
J.E.B. Spredemann, Amish by AccidentÂ
I want to read and write and be very quiet.
Martha Gellhorn
She generally gave herself very good advice (though she very seldom followed it).
Lewis Carroll, Aliceâs Adventures in Wonderland
Donât be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.
John D. Rockefeller
Your handwriting. The way you walk. Which china pattern you choose. Itâs all giving you away. Everything you do shows your hand. Everything is a self-portrait. Everything is a diary.
Chuck Palahniuk (via psych-facts)
A well-chosen book saves you from everything, including yourself.
F. Scott Fitzgerald (via mysharona1987)
âIf youâre going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, donât even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockeryâisolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, youâll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If youâre going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. Itâs the only good fight there is.â
Charles Bukowski, Factotum (via amargedom)
Of lovers whose bodies smell of each other, who think the same thoughts without need of speech.
T.S. Eliot (via seabois)
I think you are wrong to want a heart. It makes most people unhappy. If you only knew it, you are in luck not to have a heart.
L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (via picsandquotes)
