Final Kinnporsche Thoughts:
Korn is a bitch ass liar and i know he's still hiding EVERYTHING from us.
Gun is just a bitch and I'm not mourning him.
The mom is FAKING and it's to protect her boys. The way she was holding back tears and trying to remain neutral? No. Absolutely not. What is happening.
This family has a habit of getting just close enough to incest to make the rest of us squirm. Stop that.
Pete, Vegas, and Macau need to get as far away from the family as possible. Find a cute cottage somewhere and be a happy family.
Pete. I get. I get why we went with the pet metaphor. But i must strongly protest.
When that guard shot Vegas i thought I was going to die.
Kinn and Porsche living out their power couple fantasies (as they should)
Did I say "Fuck you Korn" yet? Bc fuck you Korn. How many people died in this weird ass plot of yours.
Kim defending Porschay? Hot.
Kim making Porschay cry with a song? Not.
Me forgiving Kim for all his sins bc I love Jeff? Problematic.
Season 2 better not disappoint. This was a wild ride.

Ep 13 KinnPorsche - What really broke Pete and Why it had to happen like this
What broke Pete
We saw Pete being electrocuted and what not, but he never lost his appetite, or his fighter spirit, or his talking to self comedy. Then, why so sad post s3x.
We ended ep 12 with Pete’s smile. He kissed because he realized he likes this man. He made love for the first time. And, he was happy to see his man being happy in his company.
We start ep 13 with a visibly depressed Pete. Scars have lessened. Bandages are gone. Lying position is different. Hands are handcuffed. Pants are different. Clearly, this is not a continuation. V X P have been having s3x. Yet, Pete is sad.
******************************
Pete’s perspective
Pete is falling in love with each passing moment. He should hate his situation, but he is finding himself enjoying it as long as Vegas is around. And, Pete knows this is not the right feeling he should have in this captive scenario.
AND YET this is not what broke him.
What really pushed Pete over the edge was the feeling of falling irrevocably in love with someone, giving that person your everything, and making a fool of yourself. Because, that person does not reciprocate Pete’s feelings. Infact, from Pete’s perspective, that person just considers Pete as a mere object of s3x, a pet to seek comfort, a recipient of bipolar emotional outbursts. Pete is just a meaningless existence. And, this is heartbreaking.
This heartbreak is not only driving Pete to feel worthless, but just making him feel disgusted with himself. All he is seeking in this episode is “I love you”, but what he hears is “You are sexy”, “You are a fool”, “i need you”, “don’t leave me”, “You are my pet”. “Don’t think you can say anything because we had s3x”, a noodle bowl which is not edible, start over but with chains
I do think had Pete got his heartfelt “I love you”, he would have stayed. His mood would have changed.
The sad part is.. in all those lines Vegas was indeed saying I love you
**************************************
Vegas’ perspective
You are sexy ( I have never felt anything like this before, and trust you me because i have slept with so many)
You are a fool ( my fool, how are you so different, you are too good for this world); Vegas’s smile during opening sequence is so giddy in love smile
I need you - but Vegas’ need is his lifeline.. not a time pass or need of the hour.
Don’t leave me - i can’t breathe..
And as we do find, Pete finally accepts Vegas the moment Vegas says “You can’t shoot me and you know why. I am sorry” … he knows Vegas is talking Love. He also knows that Vegas has risked everything to meet him. Vegas has come out of hiding to a place where Kinn’s men are (after all tankhun is here, Porsche is here.. but ofcourse there are bodyguards and security and kinn’s surveillance)
And from Vegas’ perspective … he is not here to say stay with me, accept me.. none of that.. he really does want to apologize… he wants to make sure Pete knows that he is not like everyone else for Vegas.. he is special.. he is the man Vegas fell in love with.. and Vegas can risk anything for him.
The lyrics on screen in their individual cryfest scene fit both of them very well and give their perspective.
Vegas is in love but knows Pete does not love him back. He would prefer to not have Vegas in his life. He wants Pete to know that he misses all of it… and he wasn’t having s3x , he was making love
Pete is in love and thinks Vegas does not care…but he would like to be in clear…he can’t take the heartbreak and being made into a fool..
**************************
Opening Sequence
Both are in different places. They think they are being obvious, but they aren’t. Here, Pete atleast thinks it is a one sided emotion and it is making him miserable.
Vegas is full of admiration… a strong attraction he does not want to name.
A compliment from the one you love, but it hurts. “You are sexy” (lust, physical). The choice of words can be very hurtful depending on emotions. From Pete’s perspective, he gives a lukewarm “mmm”… (Right, I am after all here to just fulfill your physical requirements and desires. Who am I, a nobody)
While we get an expressionless “Mmm” from Pete…look at Vegas. He has just complimented the man he is falling for, he is smiling.. his feelings behind “You are sexy” are so different… you are alluring, i have never felt this way with anyone else (and believe you me because i have slept with many)
***************************************
Yok’s Bar - some details are just magnificent
The show is reminding you, Vegas hasn’t changed for the world. He HAS ONLY Changed for Pete (and i guess that’s the journey for his character to change for Pete and that means change for the world)
Seduction: a war between want and fear
I kept thinking again and again at how it felt like there was a complete switch in Vegas after he winds up harming himself, how at first glance it could feel like the scene before and after are in complete disconnect, how they could feel disjointed. And then also about how Vegas seems so surprised by Pete’s kiss, how it feels like he was not really expecting it. And all that made me look deeper and then it clicked.
Vegas talking about his life and the seduction scene are connected .They are connected on a deeper level because one is a consequence of the other. And not only those two scenes, but the hedgehog’s death too.
@lutawolf pointed out to me that it was during this first scene that Vegas fully realised that Pete had feelings for him because he looked at Pete and cried harder because he did not leave, even though he had the possibility and so for the first time there was someone who remained.
The next scene has Vegas being completely vulnerable with Pete, confessing his inner and deeper feeling, leaving him completely bared and vulnerable in Pete’s eyes.
What I found pretty telling is that the scene begins with Vegas saying “Why didn't you run away?” and then “Everything that I love left me.” and then “Leave me alone.”
Because again Vegas does really believe he is not worthy of love, that he will not be chosen for who he is, and what he feels for Pete makes him so very scared because love for him is not permanent, because everything he loves leaves him, just like the hedgehog did.
And so like @hael987 said so much better than me “Vegas’ belief is that his true self is unworthy, undesirable, and no one could ever choose him. But also subtly he’d started to hope. Pete's tenderness and staying has made him hope. He /hopes/ but he doesn’t actually /believe/, and so he’ll put an end to this ambiguity, this vulnerability, these scary new feelings Pete evokes, by going for Pete and creating a situation that he believes Pete will never respond to, that Pete will turn away from.”
The shift comes across to me as Vegas’ way of lashing out, because that is what he does when he feels threatened and unsure and he feels too much, like he does after they talk about their fathers or the blood type conversations . He will lash out at Pete and in this way he will prove to himself that all his darkest thoughts about himself are really true. That nobody could ever see all the darkest sides of him and love and accept him as a whole.
But as always with Vegas, everything he does and says has layers upon layers. Because what begins as his way of lashing out suddenly becomes something completely different. Because the need to be chosen is bigger than the fear, and there is yet another shift from lashing out to desperation. Because this reads to me as a struggle between what he wants and what he fears.
Because the way Vegas says “How do you like it?”, the way he keeps trembling for the whole scene after is so much more significant. Because he will put himself out there, all the while believing that even if Pete does have feelings for him, they will never have a positive outcome.
Because Pete has no reason to give in after all Vegas has done.
And so he will use this seduction as a weapon to finally reveal an answer, and he still fears it will be a rejection but at the same time he cannot help but hope it will be positive.
And in the end, he leaves the choice completely in Pete’s hand and he turns away because he still believes that after having shown his worst nobody will find him worthy of the trouble.
And he cannot bear to face what the outcome will be. And so when Pete does choose him first there is disbelief, and then rejoice and elation because finally, finally someone did choose him. Because
“momentary disbelief because he was wrong, surprise because he gets all he ever wanted, surprise because the hope was based in reality, it’s real and it’s his now.(@hael987 )”
“That surprise and smile said it all. Oh you do pick me , oh thank god, you pick me (@lutawolf )”
Because this is what he feared he would never get and all he ever wanted: to be chosen and to be loved as a whole, for the worst and the best that he is.
All of this post should be considered as a labour of love from three minds, I just put it together.
Dedicated to both @lutawolf and @hael987 because they mean the world to me.
The Dark Horse of Acting - Build's Pete

Mile's Kinn
Apo's Porsche
When the series started I had absolutely no idea what journey Pete will have in the narrative - I somehow avoided a fair bit of novel related posts and did not until Episode 7 that Pete and Vegas are the secondary couple. Even when I did realize it I did not give it much thought because well, Pete was such an understated character compared to the rest of them. I honestly can't even recall what I thought about him beyond "ahaha lol what a funny guy he makes funny faces hahaha" and "lol lol he's so done with Tankhun he's so relatable lol lol".
I know that everyone likes to think of every character as morally grey in the show but in my opinion, within the context of the world the showrunners have created, Kinn and Porsche are relatively morally upright, Vegas is relatively morally uhh...bad, and Pete is the one that is truly genuinely morally grey. In DnD terms - he would be what I would call a true neutral (compared to Kinn's lawful good, Porsche's chaotic good and Vegas' lawful evil) (just to add here lawful here doesn't mean legal - not gonna explain the whole DnD thing here, please google it if this doesn't make sense to you in any way).
Pete's unique combination of high empathy and high cynicism has led to creation of this increasingly interesting character, brought to life by Build's flawless execution - understated in the initial episodes, unexpectedly intense in the later episodes.
Apo, Mile and Bible are overwhelmingly charismatic - I don't think they could do a scene where you would look away from them. Wardrobe and makeup also plays a huge role in that but I don't think you could ever cast these three actors as side characters because they would simply take over a scene. Build on the other hand blended seamlessly into the background in the first few episodes.
In this scene even when Pete is talking it's hard to take your eyes off of Porsche. It's partially because how the camera is placing Porsche in the frame (1/3rd of the way in and he is also very tall and in front) and partially because Build seems to...almost have a dial where he can switch off his charisma.
This scene on the other hand, the camera actually focuses on Pete but you can see how even blurred Apo's Porsche is dominating the scene. If you didn't have context clues from reading other people's post about Pete on socials you would never clock him as anything more than a boy-next-door in the wrong business. This boy does not belong in the mafia.
His scenes with Kinn and Vegas are also in the same vein, he strictly feels like a side character until-
8 episodes later we have this scene and it's really hard to believe this is the same guy from the gifs above. You cannot take your eyes away from him. Think we can all agree he looks unhinged here and finally looking like an actual gangster. I never would have guessed that I would see this side of Pete considering how Build was playing Pete until this point - it was such a surprise for me.
This is another interesting one: Bible has incredibly sharp and defined bone structure while Build has a very soft face. Usually a face like Bible dominates the screen and it usually does but here Build is able to match Bible's energy. Nobody is overpowering anybody and he looks nothing like the soft boy of the first few episodes - he looks calculating, assured, almost at peace and juuuust a little bit dangerous. Comic relief side character has walked out the door, she is charisma incarnate, she is the moment.
My favorite scenes with Pete are the ones where he is giving people advices. He has done it for Porsche, for Kinn and finally for Vegas here. Build really does the detached cynicism™ with perfection. Notice how dead his eyes look here, how slack his face is. He is understanding but also tired. He is resigned.
Now compare that to his eyes here- they look so alive - again it's almost like it's two entirely different actors and I know that's the whole point of acting but!!! I am in awe!! I have no option but to stan!!
And finally my absolute favorite frame featuring Pete. The direction was so good and Pete looks - well he looks like a lot of things - but he mostly looks evil here! Like he has just succeeded in tricking somebody. Like a cat who has just cornered a rat - it's such an unsettling smile, that paired with the unsettling music and Vegas' smile fading when he sees Pete smile - I had my jaws on the floor - Build was the showstopper, he was so real for this I can't even.
I think the showrunners could not have casted a better person for this role. Build's Pete is a truly remarkable work of subtle acting, absolutely unexpected, the dark horse of the cast.
Is it dubcon? Sure. However, it’s important to look at preceding events when forming our opinions on that final scene. Just moments before, we’re shown Porsche reacting very differently when Vegas makes unwelcome advances. Porsche persistently and violently rebukes Vegas. Whatever effect that drink has physiologically, it’s clear that Porsche retains enough awareness to maintain a sense of agency. We also explicitly see Porsche acknowledge who he’s with when he starts coming onto Kinn and he demonstrates further awareness when he acknowledges their kiss on the pier. Meanwhile, Kinn clearly restrains himself despite Porsche’s attempts to provoke. It’s only after Porsche reveals that he remembers their kiss on the pier that he caves. Until this moment, Kinn was genuinely doing his best to care for Porsche, not feigning kindness with ulterior motives.
Would I make these arguments if this situation occurred in real life? HELL NO. but this is KINNPORSCHE we’re talking about. A drama about a bunch of badass MAFIA men. Truthfully, they took care to show more consent in this scene than I ever expected. Certainly more than MANY other BLs I’ve seen over time where one person would force themselves on another while the other party actively resisted. Or where one party forced themselves on the other while the latter was sleeping and unable to resist at all. I completely understand why many would find this scene in episode 4 uncomfortable and problematic but given the genre and the setting….I think this is about what should’ve been expected? Absolutely nothing about the promos for this drama led me to believe we’d be seeing a healthy relationship, that’s for sure. I came here expecting sexy times and fucked up but interesting dynamics.
While I know there’ll be a shit ton of enthusiastic consensual sex moving forward, I also expect we’ll see behavior a lot more problematic than this before the series ends. All I’m saying is, if this triggered you…Don’t expect the show to be more palatable moving forward.
Please don’t murder me for my problematic opinions. This is an inherently problematic story with very flawed and problematic characters and I expect they’ll continue to be problematic and my problematic ass is going to enjoy every problematic second of it 🤷♀️
It’s OK to be wrong
It truly is. I know that for some of you who have invested so much time in this ship, this might be a hard day. All of us who don’t ship them but used to know how you feel. For some people it happened after IFH, for other people it was the engagement, for others the wedding and for the rest it will be the baby. But what all those things have in common is the realization that the real couple is not the couple conjured up in your head.
No, you are not stupid because you thought they were together at some point. There is nothing wrong if you still believe that they make a great couple and would make great babies together but that is not the reality.
Fantasizing about it is completely fine. That’s what shipping is about. Going around saying you have proof of a fictitious relationship, a herd of invisible children, a network conspiracy theory is completely irresponsible and it needs to stop.
Respect C and her choices. They might not be yours but it is what she decided to do with her life. She shared the birth of her son with her husband T and that baby doesn’t deserve the crazies. Think about how your kid would feel if he read at some point that there are people who believe his mom is with someone else and his dad is not his dad.
So keep the fantasy in the realm of fantasy and go on with your life. I assure you, C not being with S, won’t be the end of your life.
Óle, óle y óle.
And stupid is being stubborn after all the proof in the contrary and go on believing someone else's lies because you want you. That's what's stupid here.
