The Rabanus Project presents, "An Awkward Dance: A View of Aboriginal/Church Relations" The relationship between Aboriginal communities and "The Church" cannot be described as black and white. It is a relationship that experienced many horrid situations (e.g. residential schools) but is also an integral part of many Aboriginal people and communities today. The feeling of distrust is still prevalent in many communities, however there is a movement to achieve reconciliation. The main question though is "How?". To get there, the presenter will use his personal and professional experience to discuss significant factors that are necessary to establish a healthier relationship. On Wednesday, March 18, at 4 p.m. Jonathan Hamilton-Diabo of First Nations House will offer a free academic lecture about relations between the Aboriginal community and the Church in Canada today. The lecture will take place in the Coop of Brennan Hall. Bring a friend and join us for refreshments, finger sandwiches, and sweets!
