Schnuffel's hairstyle is evolving. About a month ago he suddenly sprouted a mane.
My fatty.
My big glasses don't fit him.
A rabbit reaches over to her companion in a factory farm. Rabbits are smart, inquisitive, sensitive, and loving creatures. Say no to rabbit meat and fur. Say no to animal testing.
Too cute.
Had to share. :)
Tomorrow I am going to the shelter to pick up my new pet rabbit. I think I have all the supplies I need but I just want to double check, can you tell me what all you bought for your rabbit?
First of all, plenty of hay and good quality pellets. Depending on the age of the rabbit, you may want to get some rabbit-safe veggies as well. Ask what the rabbit has been fed at the shelter. They have sensitive stomachs so it is important to transition them to a new diet slowly.
Depending on whether you plan on keeping him/her free-range, you may want to consider an play pen or a C&C cage. I wouldn't recommend pet store-bought cages as they are too small and quite expensive.
You will also need to get water dishes/a bottle, some food bowls for the pellets/veggies, etc.
I'd recommend getting a litter box, too. Most rabbits at shelters are litter trained already, but if yours is not, it would be a great idea to train him/her. You can use a normal cat litter box, and some rabbit-safe litter or just hay. Some get hay racks for the hay and hang them above the litter box, but personally, I don't use those.
Provide your rabbit with a variety of toys and chews. Those help keep their teeth trim and their minds sharp. Hope this helps and good luck! :)
Waiting for pets.
Happy Saturday!
Falling asleep.

I'm on a box.
