Process:

I started off with plain wood blocks cut in various sizes. The white piece of wood in the background was actually the top of a container for brushes that I painted white. I then painted the rest of the wooden pieces a magenta colour and a viridian green. I seem to be infatuated with pink and green together lately.

I painted two of them pink and the other two green. Then I mixed the magenta and viridian green and got a cool toned, cloudy purple that I then painted to act as shadows almost.

Then I placed them in my studio that just so happens to have pink curtains and a green floral sheet on the wall, I wanted the light from the window to play a part in the piece also.

Wow, really interesting how Erin is from architecture first. Her compositions are gorgeous and the colour palettes are to die for. Her work is photographs of her pieces which I also like, giving her full control for how the pieces are perceived.

Process:

My second sculpture consists of three large pieces of cellaphane, painted with acrylic paint in rose, light blue and yellow. (I was thinking of the colours printers use) Then I layered them over each, like a Venn diagram.

Then I painted four smaller panels of each colour and layered them to be intentionly random.
