went to the beach today so. shiloh beach episode !!!
disclaimer: y'all know i love the bandits, plus i like the idea that even tho the coast would be part of the sticks demons don't go there much bc 1) we know they don't like salt and 2) it's my belief they don't like running water (so the chapel is kinda safe that way - before we get hasty nopefish had like. a pool. not running water. thank u) so i think that there are more settlements there since it's safer + yk you can fish and whatnot. okay this got long bc i love talking abt my shiloh lore but on with the post !!!
sawyer doesn't like the water. or the sand really. or the sun. he just kinda sits on a towel under a parasol and just watches everyone else have fun and he's content. sometimes syd and ollie convince him to step into the water but that man is NOT going past his knees. he likes fishing, well, the sitting and waiting part of fishing, so he's in charge of keeping an eye on the fishing rods they cast so they can get some food for the chapel
dusty likes to sunbathe, but she gets into the water too sometimes - ollie tries to dunk her under the water, he obviously fails and pays a very hard price because she WILL hold him under the water in retaliation
syd likes jumping over waves and prefers to stay on the shore where the waves break, unless there are bigger waves more into the water then you bet she's in there. it gives sawyer a heart attack every time her head doesn't show up for a while from the water
ollie gets sunburnt. every time. he always ends up as red as a lobster. also he doesn't use sunscreen so. his fault ig
shane likes to lie in the sun like a gecko. do not bother him. he has a pair of stylish sunglasses he stole at some point and WILL wear them in the water (once ollie managed to push him into the water and the glasses fell off. shane made EVERYONE look around for them. syd found them)
sawyer enjoys walking up and down the coast with his feet in the water if it's not too hot, and ollie sometimes keeps him company. but going with ollie means him splashing sawyer with his feet, so
they get competitive building sandcastles. first syd and ollie start out, mainly playing, but they rope shane into it and believe me he makes everything into a competition. syd is also rather fiercely competitive. the judges are sawyer (who really doesn't give a fuck and he'll say ollie's is the best just to piss off shane) whereas dusty gets really enthusiastic about it. she has a points system
any activity turns into a competition, really. racing into the water, playing beach tennis or volleyball, swimming far into the ocean... dusty isn't as fun to play with because she's more chill about it, not caring if she wins or loses. same goes for sawyer. but shane and syd will have a screaming match over the smallest thing, and ollie finds it entertaining to egg them on
if there are rocks and stuff ollie likes swimming around and looking at the fish and crabs with goggles. he looks silly with them on
ollie likes showing syd tricks, like handstands and cartwheels, but he's not the best at them. dusty's freakishly flexible as well as she is strong, and is the one to actually show them how it's done
you best bet when they get back shane makes EVERYONE dip into the lake and get the sand off of them because he does NOT want anyone tracking sand into the chapel. no, sir
shane makes a nice dinner out of the fish they catch, and they sit around the fire and eat, and if it's nice out and the sun is still up they sit outside. tired, but happy that they had a normal day outside of their regular demon craziness
oooh yes!! sea glass, shells, cool rocks... she piles them up next to sawyer and says he's the one who has to keep an eye on them while she plays and finds more cool stuff
i think it's VERY interesting how when we see shane in the colony, he always picks the red defense district jacket, but in his flashback, he was clearly a jumpsuit. im sure as a teen/young adult, before being killed by barrett, he had certain dreams of grandeur that involved climbing up the social ladder. plus, if we add the fact that caroline was a jacket (or a pin? i can't remember) it makes sense that he'd want to be in her station. so when he finally gets to choose which "character" he gets to play whenever they go to the colony, he picks the person he could have been. does this make sense
shiloh headcanons because im bored and the bandits are on my mind
gonna put it under the cut cuz it got VERY long im sorry i just have a lot of thoughts about them
sawyer
doesn't speak unless spoken to. not in like, a subordinate way or anything but he would much rather sit in silence than start an actual conversation
has always been freakishly strong. like, nothing to do with the highwayman, he's just always been really really strong. back when he was a colonist they gave him all the heavy work in his district
contrary to popular belief, he doesn't have a short temper, but there's a certain set of triggers that immediately make him angry. he found that he started feeling more anger after getting involved with the highwayman
he's not an insomniac in the way that he can't sleep, rather he knows how to keep himself awake all night to keep watch. also, despite occasionally grumbling he's the one who keeps watch the most, he doesn't really let anyone else do it, claiming they need sleep. he only sleeps during the day
neither he nor shane fully believe in fate but it's so ingrained in them from having grown up in the colony that they use phrases and catch themselves doing certain practices that were put upon them as kids. they don't disbelieve, either, they're both kind of indifferent because if fate has given them this bad a hand then they want nothing to do with her. they do pray in times of need, however
actually excelled in school. he preferred the sciences, and he never really liked to raise his hand or whatever but he always knew the answer
he is. surprisingly funny. it doesn't show often but every now and then he makes a comment that has everyone rolling on the floor laughing their asses off. the best thing is that he doesn't consider himself funny so he's so bemused every time it happens
his knee has been giving him trouble ever since he was a kid. he wasn't in an accident or anything tragic, he was just born like that. as a kid he needed walking aids, but over the years he got used to walking without them because in the colony all the adults tried to get him to grow out of them. he still has some difficulties walking
shane
(from @catcucumber-salad) he hates mushrooms. shane accidentally put hallucinogenics in a meal and sawyer hated the feeling so much that he avoids mushrooms entirely
an absolute fashionista. he will give the others unsolicited advice on how they dress despite all of them living in a literal abandoned chapel in the middle of nowhere and their clothing is limited. he doesn't care
cannot stand being barefoot. hates the feeling. he always has something on his feet
i've said this before but he cooks. and he cooks well. when he was a colonist he liked trying out meals and had a whole stack of recipe books. in the chapel it's more DIY, which bothers him a little but it's not like he can do much about it
since he and sawyer are close in age, they went to school together. they expected him to be like sawyer, who's older, but shane was the complete opposite. smart as a whip, yes, but he also talked back to every single teacher. he was the kid that caused other to "unionize" against certain injustices. they really didn't know what to do with him, and they placed him in the defense district hoping it would scare it out of him. didn't work
he gets a lot of compliments on his eyes
he taught himself how to whittle just so he would have something to do in his free time. he likes making little figurines and leaving them around, as decoration, or he gives them to people
have i said this before? but shane is a neat freak. they all contribute to keeping the chapel clean (some more than others) but shane likes having his space organised. he butts heads with dusty and ollie who are more chaotic in that respect
as opposed to sawyer, who took well to living in the sticks and learnt quickly how it works, it's kind of obvious that shane is/was a colonist. he doesn't complain about things he might've left behind but it shows in the way he does things
ollie
when possible, he'll go barefoot. i know this is canon but i just had to add it because i will also go barefoot whenever possible. everyone looks at him like he's insane
will help anyone with anything no matter what. someone needs something done and he's there trying to help out (and getting in the way half the time). it's gotten to the point that the bandits simply ask him to do things they don't want to because they know he'll say yes to anything
freakishly good at tracking animals and stuff through the woods. he has heightened senses, partly because of his demon and partly because he spent his whole life needing to forage and hunt
it bothers him when shane teases him for not knowing how to read, but then turns around and claims he doesn't need it at all. on the other hand he's quick with numbers
is VERY touchy. even if he doesn't know you. literally he won't stop, even if it's just leaning against someone or holding their hand or an arm around their shoulders
wakes up at the ass-crack of dawn. every day. and as good as he is a tracking animals and stuff he always ends up waking someone up in the chapel cuz he's clumsy and loud as hell. if it's shane he wakes up then everyone gets woken up cuz they start yelling at each other
he doesn't like how impersonal guns are, and knows he has no strength at all, which is why he likes his knives. he likes to be close to his kills. he taught himself to throw knives, and as a result has a whole bunch of scars all over his body from failed attempts
he doesn't smoke, but does like sharing a cigarette with sawyer every now and then
in regards to fate, people from the sticks have their own practices. having been in such close contact to demons most of his life, he doesn't really believe in fate at all, and it helps that his mother wasn't all that into it either. he doesn't have much of an interest in religion
that scar on his forehead, however, is from a simple fall. he was the typical kid that climbed trees all the time and he loves heights, and one day he just fell
since he spent most of his time with his mother, he has a lot of "femenine" skills. he enjoys embroidery, and is always the one to stitch up everyone's clothes when needed. we've seen he's good at doing hair, and syd and dusty let him practice elaborate hairstyles on him. if he catches shane in a good enough mood he'll practice on his curls
in all honesty he likes sharing anything with anyone. he just loves being around people
he was the one to give the whistle to syd. it belonged to one of the guys his demon killed in his house, and he kept it for years. when they met syd and realised that she couldn't whistle, he gave it to her
he finds everything funny. he's the type to laugh at his own jokes before he's even said it
syd
this is canon and ive mentioned it before but she draws. whenever she's not doing anything she pulls out a pencil and paper and just draws whatever she feels like. the table at the chapel is always littered with papers but no one minds much
she likes having her hair in a braid just to keep it out of her face. even if she acts annoyed when ollie does her hair she secretly likes it because it makes her feel cared for
she isn't one for leisurely walking around, but she'll sometimes go with sawyer so she can map out the areas around the chapel. she has a fuck ton of maps that actually come in handy since there are some people (cough cough shane) who have no sense of direction whatsoever
she hasn't been around many people who believed in fate and as a result she doesn't either. she finds it hard to believe that a goddess like fate, apparently benevolent, would let all these horrible things happen. so she's skeptical
she can read and write, but not perfectly. she recognises the alphabet and basic words, but she doesn't read much (there's not much reading material in the sticks). once she starts going more into the colony she finds out about the library and begs dusty and shane to take her so she can sit there and read
she really likes her freckles
dusty
she left the colony not for dramatic or legal reasons, but personal ones. family drama (another from @catcucumber-salad) combined with the suffocating nature of the colony caused her to just pack up and leave one day. she had met shane a few times and decided to go with him, but weirdly enough she clicked more with ollie
her and ollie: dumb bitches telling each other "exactlyyy"
she's had pink hair since she was a teenager, and routinely has to go to the colony to get hair dye. her original hair colour is brown
she's rather religious; she genuinely believes in fate and loves going to shiloh for the goddess' festivities. she doesn't look like she believes, however. most of the others forget half the time until she off-handedly mentions something
seriously though i know it's only mentioned once in the comic but her and ollie are close. besties. they love gossiping and complaining together
hates physical touch. she and shane share one of the back rooms of the chapel together (i think they have different rooms in canon? but i like this idea better) but they have separate mattresses because she likes to stretch out. it took her a while to get used to ollie's constant touching but now she doesn't mind it from him at all
she used to get into underground brawls in lower shiloh; its where she learnt to fight and probably where she got that scar on her nose from
julian
i think I've said this before but julian is not from shiloh. even though canonically shiloh is it's own universe/planet, i like to think about it as an island completely abandoned and forgotten by the rest of the world, as well as restricted. but since julian is into the supernatural, he found out about shiloh by digging into places he wasn't supposed to be digging in and managed to get there
i like to think he continues with his conduit stuff, coming and going around the sticks and using syd's maps, but knowing he has a home in the chapel
surprisingly, the person he gets along the best is with sawyer. they sit in silence most of the time, and from outside it looks like they're just sitting there indifferently, but they're actually bonding
he's also very into his journals. always scribbling away. at the start it stresses the bandits out cuz like. what is he writing about us
he also loves to info dump about demons and everything he's learnt. he swaps stories with the bandits, asking for their experiences. on the other hand they ask him a to explain a bunch of things about demon behaviour
he documents everything. and i mean everything. every little demon interaction and behaviour, he has it written down on anything he can find. he doesn't exactly aspire to publish a book but he perfectly could if he wanted to. like. it gets to the point where he literally makes demon classifications based on patterns he's observed, which comes a lot in handy
he is fascinated by religion, and wants to learn all he can about shiloh's practices and customs
idk why but i feel like he has to sleep with the window open. it doesn't matter how cold or hot it might be outside but he needs some sort of outside coming in. in his tent he leaves the flap half-open despite the dangers
animals really like him. because of all the demon energy around the chapel animals kind of avoid everyone else there, but julian is beloved by them. they approach him, birds have no problem perching on his shoulders or head... he's a disney princess trust
idk if I've mentioned this before but it ALWAYS strikes me that there are statues of fate with literal speakers in them, like the one in my pfo. gonna put it here so y'all can see it better
JUST on her neck. as if she's the one making all the announcements—the morning reveille, the curfew announcements, etc. its insane to me because its using a deity to promote your ideals and rules (which... happens here too lmao) but by making it look like she says it herself!!! what do you bet the announcements are in a female voice too? also the fact that this particle statue is in lower shiloh... something something about religion being used in the lower classes as education and ideology without having to explain much about it and teaching people to take things at face value because "the deity says so". im very normal about this can you tell
Hyperfixating on the Solo!AU for so long so many times has got me associating Sawyer with Lady Gaga songs whenever I think of him like... I do not remember how this started, just that it's like that now....
Like, HOW CAN I NOT HEAR THE ENDING MINUTE OF HEAVY METAL LOVER WHEN I LOOK AT HIS SOLO!AU DESIGN NOW, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE
Shane is the star who got into trouble with some shady folks (washed up country singer called Highway Man or smth) and now most of his earnings have to go to said shady folks because they have blackmail on him.
Dusty is the bodyguard who smuggles in the booze. She practically leapt at Shane's job offer to get out of her home situation. And now she mostly chills in the lounge with her drinks when she's not offstage watching out for Shane. Also has bartender experience.
Sawyer is also a bodyguard, but he's mainly there to help Shane out because he his half-brother/cousin. He also goes to look out for Shane at events despite his chronic knee pain. Most of Shane's fans are afraid of approaching because of Sawyer. (Sawyer is blissfully unaware that he has his own fangroup, no don't tell him, he doesn't want to know lmao)
Ollie is the hairstylist and helps out with costume design and tailoring. Also works as a part-time bodyguard, either helping Sawyer or stepping in when Sawyer can't show up.
Julian is also a costume designer, and he handles the schedules, appointments, etc. This was supposed to be a short job but it just dragged longer and longer.
(I honestly don't know what to do abt Sid in this)
I headcanon Sawyer to have pretty bad nightmares about what he does for the Highway Man along with whatever screwed up stuff he's seen in the Shiloh & the Sticks, to the point he actively refuses to sleep, hence the very prominent dark bags under his eyes.
Also that Sawyer, Dusty and Shane kind of have an internalized fear or discomfort of being called crazy or something because of all the crap with Corrections and Shiloh's psych ward (look at Chloe's reaction when Hollis calls out her secret, that place had to have been literal HELL based on her look of absolute terror followed the tears) they don't really react to it much since living in the Sticks + Ollie and Mantis + Highway Man, but it's there, and it comes out pretty harshly when they're distressed enough and someone catches them at the worst moment.
Sawyer doesn't mind people rambling to or around him, since Ollie definitely seems like the talkative type, along with Sid telling Dusty about her fight Mantis over and over.
I'm thinking about also going for the fact that Sawyer's unusual eye color unsettles people to the point they just spill their guts to him but idk. (Now I'm thinking Hollis collects blackmail on purpose, but Sawyer just wants people to STOP TELLING HIM THEIR DARKEST SECRETS PLS HE DOES'T NEED THE EXTRA STRESS OF SECRET KEEPING ESP IF IT'S JUICY
(And now I am reminded of the fact I had Solo!AU Sawyer become OBSESSED with information because he has to stop / outrun S.H.A.D.O.W., poor guy…))
They keep any books they have in the chapel in Shane's room bc he keeps them in the best condition.
Ollie and Sid try to get Dusty to read to them because she's more animated than Sawyer, who reads like he's giving a freaking college presentation, or Shane who either scoffs or keeps commenting on the propaganda or how badly written it is.
Based off of @thefatesaltar 's headcanons on Sid, all the Bandits each have a drawing she gave just to them after asking what they'd want her to draw for them. I'm 100% projecting bc for a while, I would ask my family members if I could draw anything for them then I'd draw it on my tablet and give them an HD copy.
I haven't quite come up with what their personalized drawings would be though….
Idk if they have Strawberries either growing wild or in Shiloh in their area, but Sawyer would FUCKING LOVE STRAWBERRIES. AND CHOCOLATE.
Okay, I headcanon that if he got the chance Sawyer would be a foodie, it's just that given their living situation it's virtually impossible. (blame my Emirichu food vlogs binging for this lmao) And since this was also inspired by a headcanon from @thefatesaltar , he 100% enabled Shane's cooking habit in Shiloh. Also I feel like in canon the Bandits would find the concept of a burger pretentious, because to them it's just a fancy sandwich. tf is a burger? "you mean a sandwich, motherfucker??"
All the Bandits are afraid of losing each other. They never say it, they never discuss or hint at it, but it's there. Sure it's a bit messed up in several ways (Sawyer having definitely killed Shane in the past, i doubt the gun accident was the only one hkjdhgkjdhgkjs) but all of them would be shaken if they lose one of their own.
"for your nerves," dusty teased, waving a bottle of something alcoholic in shane's direction. the chants from the crowd were almost deafening, calling for shane to appear on stage.
shane flashed her that chipped-tooth grin of his. "nerves? ain't even heard of 'em."
a couple of moodboards based on @catcucumber-salad 's shiloh singer AU!! i loved the idea it's been rotating in my mind for the last few days. i ADORE the idea of like. rockstar gf dusty who provides alcohol for the crew and while she's not technically a bodyguard she WILL fight whoever crosses her lmao
then there's shane who LOVES being a famous singer, and would do anything to hear the crowd cheer his name. he loves dusty's no-nonsense attitude and the way she's genuinely fun and she (begrudgingly) likes his flashiness and his confidence that borders on arrogance
i recently found out and read ep 113 and it was very cool (my heart was literally beating out my chest but we don't talk about that) but the only thing that bothered me was that it was like. cleary just chloexsawyer bickering and stuff while fighting lmaoo
i mean you can't tell me that sawyer—the guy who was willing to die by ollie's demon just to try and get him back to being himself (and to save syd), the guy that was willing to risk his life on the cliff so shane and ollie could get to safety, the guy who stood between the highwayman and ollie, the guy who would literally do ANYTHING for any of his friends even if he's grumpy or whatever afterwards—didn't immediately turn the whole place upside down making sure shane and ollie were okay. i mean cmon. LOOK at this guy !!
This post is amazing and I cannot wait to delve into this… okay. I 100% agree with you (everything you listed are the reasons why I LOVE this man), and I think that's why this is infamously the "unofficial ep 113".
I think that the rash impulsive decision to attack the other would be Chloe, given that in ep 112, we saw her gearing up to deck a literal GOD with a broken wine bottle, and we see her jumping on things from her hostile behavior towards cliff in early season 1, butting heads with and accusing Hollis of being Azrael, her whole clash with Kingsley after Elijah's "death", and also the fight between her and Sawyer in season 1 following Sid running away. (SHE HANDCUFFED HERSELF TO HIM AND JUMPED ON HIS BACK WHEN SAWYER WAS PERFECTLY CONTENT WITH JUST DRAGGING HER ALONG TO GET THE KEY ;-;;;) Like… Chloe, I love you girl but COME ONNNNN
ANd also, as a writer (fanfic writer) myself, I do struggle with mischaracterizing my own characters, mainly because I constantly imagine them doing random dumb shit in my head for fun until I have to lock in because "THESE ARE ALL GROWN ADULTS AND THEY'RE IN A WAR". They have so much lore and detail that even I forget about sometimes, (I feel bad for all the shit RnF get because of this, writing is an art and it really can be hard)
I have 1 (maybe more, but mainly this guy) character who such rambunctious, borderline immature behavior can be in character for, and that's because he's a sassy grim reaper whose idea of rebellion is be a little shit/pain in the ass to oppose a nihilistic Sith spirit (and his people's government).
FRRR i wanted to mention it but I didn't want to make the post too long, but you're SO right in saying chloe's the impulsive one, to the point that she doesn't exactly consider other people around her! she has a VERY strong sense of justice, meaning she is always thinking about the outcome, the abstract idea of justice being fulfilled. sawyer, on the other hand, has a rather fucked up moral compass, but he will ALWAYS put his friends before anything else
like. chloe puts a target on barrett's back which, even if she has a plan, is a HUGE risk. like you said, she handcuffs herself to syd and THEN to sawyer without a second thought. after the visit to corrections, she doesn't fully notice that henry is clearly uncomfortable until much after the fact (tho, in her defense, that could happen to anyone).
chloe is, as we're reminded a bunch of times, a rookie. she jumps to conclusions, she's impulsive, she always thinks she's doing the right thing. she says she resents the civilian life, where everyone tells you you're right, BUT her upbringing definitely shows in the way she acts. she's reckless, not used to proper consecuences to her actions, but she does care. a lot. she's just conditioned by the colony and their ideals which seeps into everything that she does
the thing about chloe is not only that she's absolutely fixated on doing what's right, but is that the perry case is personal to her. sawyer having killed charlotte has incited in her some sense of revenge, even if she wouldn't admit it, even if she says this is for the sake of the colony. yes, she cares, but she lets her feelings drive her. that, combined with her sense of justice?? results in scenes like her attempting to kill sawyer with his own gun. it bothered her he called her a rookie, it hurts that he killed a childhood friend, and she would rather him die at her hand than just let him go or leave it to the search party. it was desperate. that's also why, even if she feels conflicted about the whole thing, she carries on with the whole "leading the marked man to azrael thing". she learnt that the colony was hiding something, and immediately lost all trust in it, leading her to act even more rashly than before because it feels justified, in a way
anyways, this became much longer than intended, and i just HAD to put examples cuz i love examples. all this is why it didn't strike me as strange that chloe immediately started like, arguing with sawyer and fighting azrael's guys in ep 113, without looking for barrett, or her dad, or whoever. like, of course she cares about them, but this is her ONLY chance to get to azrael. and that's more important
Ngl, looking back on their fight, she was so aggressive, I was sure she would have been willing to BITE him at some point jfhsjdhfdksjhf
She's so lucky that Sid dropped a morality bomb on Sawyer before running away.
There's a discussion on the Discord that Sawyer has a crazy strength buff. He practically snatches Shane right off his feet while he's injured in ep 92 like said grown ass man weighed nothing more than a sack of potatoes (while we're here, rip Shane's back, that slam into the bridge railing had to have hurt), lifts a massive wooden cross off Ollie at the end of the Mantis Arc while suffering from a concussion and blood loss, and made the security at the Gala think a door was rusted shut. Bro could have snapped Chloe like a twig if he wanted to 💀
It shows he has control, but it still unnerves he that he got so tunnel visioned on choking Chloe with his knee when Sid was RIGHT NEXT TO HIM
Like… I love the guy to pieces, but he still does stuff that have me going "WHOA, DUDE WAIT, TOO FARRR" and I am reminded that yes, this man is a freaking KILLER who I think is fully capable of going head to head with RICK GRIMES…
cough cough Saying to just kill the waiter that Ollie and Shane inadvertently abducted at the Gala.
And I know it's not canon BUT
COUGH COUGH COUUGH THAT ONE PANEL OF SAWYER AND CHLOE IN SAID EP 113 BEFORE THEY START WORKING TOGETHER
yesss like the MAIN difference between sawyer and chloe is that sawyer's moral compass is so fucked up that he would kill anyone and do anything to make sure he and his friends are safe, whereas chloe's moral compass is so set straight that she's willing to put other's in danger (sometimes directly, even if she has a plan to keep them safe) just to bring people to justice. obv there's nuance here but you get me. and i guess in both sides that just ends up with the question of "how far are you willing to go?"
because sawyer got into the highwayman thing for shane, 100%. he doesn't get anything out of it, the highwayman said as much at the beginning. sawyer's going around killing people to keep SHANE immortal, without getting anything in return
and chloe? she got involved in a fucking terrorist group run by a fucking god (I don't think azrael is a god actually, like not a person either, but anyways), putting literally EVERYONE in danger (putting a mark on barrett, simply telling henry and ainsley, everything) just to see the marked man get caught
i love the fact that chloe and sawyer contradict each other so much but at the same time share this ability to surpass the limit and go beyond for their goals
i recently found out and read ep 113 and it was very cool (my heart was literally beating out my chest but we don't talk about that) but the only thing that bothered me was that it was like. cleary just chloexsawyer bickering and stuff while fighting lmaoo

the thing about chloe is not only that she's absolutely fixated on doing what's right, but is that the perry case is personal to her. sawyer having killed charlotte has incited in her some sense of revenge, even if she wouldn't admit it, even if she says this is for the sake of the colony. yes, she cares, but she lets her feelings drive her. that, combined with her sense of justice?? results in scenes like her attempting to kill sawyer with his own gun. it bothered her he called her a rookie, it hurts that he killed a childhood friend, and she would rather him die at her hand than just let him go or leave it to the search party. it was desperate. that's also why, even if she feels conflicted about the whole thing, she carries on with the whole "leading the marked man to azrael thing". she learnt that the colony was hiding something, and immediately lost all trust in it, leading her to act even more rashly than before because it feels justified, in a way
anyways, this became much longer than intended, and i just HAD to put examples cuz i love examples. all this is why it didn't strike me as strange that chloe immediately started like, arguing with sawyer and fighting azrael's guys in ep 113, without looking for barrett, or her dad, or whoever. like, of course she cares about them, but this is her ONLY chance to get to azrael. and that's more important
And I know it's not canon BUT
COUGH COUGH COUUGH THAT ONE PANEL OF SAWYER AND CHLOE IN SAID EP 113 BEFORE THEY START WORKING TOGETHER
yesss like the MAIN difference between sawyer and chloe is that sawyer's moral compass is so fucked up that he would kill anyone and do anything to make sure he and his friends are safe, whereas chloe's moral compass is so set straight that she's willing to put other's in danger (sometimes directly, even if she has a plan to keep them safe) just to bring people to justice. obv there's nuance here but you get me. and i guess in both sides that just ends up with the question of "how far are you willing to go?"
because sawyer got into the highwayman thing for shane, 100%. he doesn't get anything out of it, the highwayman said as much at the beginning. sawyer's going around killing people to keep SHANE immortal, without getting anything in return
and chloe? she got involved in a fucking terrorist group run by a fucking god (I don't think azrael is a god actually, like not a person either, but anyways), putting literally EVERYONE in danger (putting a mark on barrett, simply telling henry and ainsley, everything) just to see the marked man get caught
i love the fact that chloe and sawyer contradict each other so much but at the same time share this ability to surpass the limit and go beyond for their goals
watching arcane "huh, just like shiloh. oh thats pretty similar to shiloh. whoa caitlyn kiramman is so similar to chloe from shiloh. this is kinda like shiloh. weird, the architecture is pretty similar to shiloh. so silco and viktor are kinda like azrael from shiloh. this persecuted outcast family kinda has the same vibe as the one in shiloh. cool so this is the sci fi version of shiloh. huh."
