i’ll probably be deleting this blog soon since i have no interest in engaging with a game that can’t respect its players.

rafayel will always have a space in my heart but these two years and a half now will forever be tarnished by the intense feeling of disappointment i feel right now. i will be sole on my main account (if anyone wants to be friends), i will be turning this page into a sideblog for another fandom or even a writing blog, i don’t know yet. right now i can just feel regret for have put so much of my time and money onto that company.

otome games were supposed to be an escapism for women and infold, a company that market itself as a game company for female audience totally broke this fantasy when they decided to destroy their players’ trust on them by cancelling valko, a character that i’ve been expecting for basically more than a year.

since i never was able to connect with sylus or even like caleb, his debut was the most excited i’ve been with this game since probably rafayel’s limited myths announcements. yep, i was this hyped and now everything is gone.

i know i don’t even have that much of followers to someone to care about this post but i really need to vent about it because i’ve never been this disrespect as a consumer ever and i’m a kentin girl since 2014 that was there when beemoov decided to just randomly not bring him back for amour sucre’s 2nd season.

for context i’m not an artist, it has been years since the last time i picked up a pencil to draw, i never painted a canvas before and this was my first time ever using oil paint so please be nice 🫶🏽

there are two tropes involving rafayel i see getting thrown around a lot on those headcanon posts and that makes me sure the person writing knows very little about him as a character and i found very funny because not only they’re so repeated by the fandom but they’re also very very out of character for him

the first one is rafayel being ultra codependent of mc, he will be written as complete unable to be far away from her, i’ve even seen people writing him expectating mc to fully abandon her career for him ??????? are we even playing the same game? many of rafayel’s phone/video calls with us are about how both him and mc travel a lot for work and they’re always understandable of eachother duties. you can tell people who think rafayel would make a big thing only reference of him is the nightly stroll bond (or not even the whole scene, only the “jellyfishes are walking naked” quote), one thing is to portrait his as clingy but painting him as a straight up controlling partner is a hard no

the second one is way less problematic than the previous but i’ll complaint anyway: when fans portrait rafayel as being this self-absorbed guy who obsesses about his looks, my personal favorite part of this headcanon is the perception of rafayel being addicted to skincare because he would literally give 0 fucks about it, this is a man who canonically forgets to eat and goes nights without sleeping when he’s too invested with an art project, i think this idea comes from people’s impression of rafayel as the most feminine of the love interests what is bullshit and already complained about here

this headcanon is interested to me because yeah, rafayel is confident about his looks but at the same time he isn’t show caring much about it so the fact the majority of the fandom (or at least the majority of the fandom aside from rafayel mains curated by my algorithm) seems to have this image of him demonstrates how fandom discourse can shape it’s characters into a totally different thing

Chat have we noticed how everyone has had a 5 star card that takes place in the ml's HOUSE where the layout is visible in the kindled but Rafayel? he never seems to get domestic setting cards either, it's mostly outdoors. And tipsy invitation does not count nor does the standard your fragrance, cause the layout ain't even there, basically irrelevant and ebb and flow isn't even a card c'mon.

Raf and MC literally speak of bathing together, booty crack butt ass naked together, Rafayel has washed and dried her hair in secret times, went at it in the shower fully clothed cause he got horny from watching her back while washing her hair, verbally said "no funny business" and then ravaged her a minute later. He's repeatedly taken care of her when she's injured.

And it's been stated and reiterated again and again that he's clingy. as hell, touch starved, touch famished if you would, and it's also understood that he struggles not to be that way and feels his love is overwhelming at times. Yet his affinity poses and his solo banner poses are always the least intimate and basic as hell, yeah the lollipop had a double meaning but did they have to be covid days apart? wouldn't it make it better to have them close to communicate the innuendo? if they are gonna give them the "fun pose" every time why not, you know, make the pose actually fun? they literally released a universal dynamic of them DANCING but oh Rafayel wifetron800 would always be 3 feet apart from his beating heart? he does not even gaf who is watching Rafayel has been affectionate towards MC in front of Thalia, Thomas and literal strangers, disgustingly obvious about it.

I think Infold gave him the most intricate, humongous and interesting home layout just to waste it away and leave it to 4 star cards, how is it possible it's been two years and i've still not seen MC wake up in his mansion to the sound of waves, birds and Rafayel wrapped around her like a snake? how have we not seen them hanging out at the beach right at his door? them taking a bath together like he's always asking her to do? cuddling on the couch? getting ready for an exhibition? getting back from an exhibition and Raf fucking the daylights out of her cause he was watching her the whole night? or her fucking the daylights out of him cause she was watching him the whole night? having a paint fight in the studio? staying the night and helping with his nightmares? cooking? anything? ho I'm insane about this.

I know Rafayel is more adventurous and loves going out and about with MC and have new experiences together etc. But his content outside of 5 star cards where we see them sleeping on a stupidly shaped couch, being taken care of while sick, seeing her in the hall late at night and thinking is a ghost, taking care of a cat for her, that is wholesome and intimate and deserving of a 5 star card, Rafayel treasures her presence in his home enough to have a chest with her belongings bro please let me see them be domestic together, i want fluff i want casual intimacy, i want "same soul in two different bodies" i want Raf do see his bride first thing in the morning I WANT IT ALL.
