What would gage be like dealing with a sole who's brain is still stuck on prewar house wire mode? Like she's a mutant killing machine but she's also still very sweet and innocent (even if she thinks otherwise), very trusting and full of love. Basically the exact opposite of Gage.

Seriously this is genuinely one of my favorite Headcanons that I have about Gage so buckle up
• First off, I headcanon that Gage is really interested in prewar shit, he reads just about every magazine he can get his hands on; and the Fallout Equivalent to Martha Stewart magazines?? He just has the softest spot for them; the soft little housewives are absolutely nothing like Raider Women, so the whole concept is just extremely exotic to him
• That said, all his experience reading suggests that these types of women are not fighters; so when he sees Sole step into the train to Nuka World? He’s on that loudspeaker in a heartbeat telling her to turn her delicate little ass around
• When she completely ignores his perfectly sensible request and lands in Nuka World, he’s on the loudspeaker again trying to coach her through it.
• “Lookin’ at you, in that pretty little dress, I’m gonna be honest with ya; you’re probably not gonna make it. But if you listen to me, maybe, just maybe, you might make it through this alive.”
• Imagine his surprise when Sole absolutely cleans house in the gauntlet (and I’m not talkin abrasco)
• He’s basically ready to propose then and there, but first things first Colter needs to be dealt with
• The real shock comes the first time Sole opens her mouth to speak to him. Even covered in blood and guts, the woman is sweet as pie
• Absolutely kick ass combat ability aside, Gage is astonished to find how useful Sole’s housewifey hobbies are in the wasteland
• He about dies when she presents him with a set of brand new hand stitched leather armor pieces, his name skillfully embroidered into the right shoulder
• And that’s not even mentioning her cooking
• Gage could cry. The man had been living off the classic Raider Diet of good ol’ fashioned irradiated 200 year old junk food; so the first time he tastes her food he actually has to wipe a tear from his eye
• Even though he knows damn well she can take care of herself, he has a bad habit of trying to protect her on the battle field, which has definitely earned him a few more scrapes and bruises than necessary (and just because she’s good with a needle and thread doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt when she stitches him up and calls him a moron in that sweet little voice)
• He is definitely insecure as hell about her dead husband though. This is a classy prewar lady, how the hell could a filthy old raider like him ever compare to her Dashing Prewar Soldier Husband??
