HELLO THERE HEAVILY ARMED ONE, I AM CALLED FALSE SON. I WOULD LIKE TO ENQUIRE AS TO HOW YOU REACHED THE PLANET'S SURFACE, AS I DID NOT SEE YOUR POD FALL FROM THE SKY.
@halcyon-seeded-bison-enjoyer
"Got no pod, but that portal—"
It takes a second for Railgunner to notice that there's nothing there, no portal, just grass unbothered by the light wind.
"What the hell— it was right here! Or... was it not...."
She slowly turns away from where the "portal" should be, facing the person talking to her. Behind her visor, she blinks once, twice, and then she spoke again, carefully:
"You're not like the other stone-guys."
I HAVE CREATED AN ALLIANCE WITH THE SURVIVORS, AS THE FAUNA OF THIS PLANET IS HOSTILE TO ME AS WELL.
"That's tough, thought the stone-guys would be friendly to you."
Railgunner kept observing the creature, not making a lot of sense from it. Him. She saw a lot of creatures while trapped in the void, but never one made out of rock and light(?). Her mind is still deciding if he's real or if she's imagining things.
"At least we have something in common, first time I make a friend because a planet decided to hate us."
I BELIEVE THERE IS A SHIP CONTAINING MORE OF YOUR KIND SOMEWHERE, THOUGH I DO NOT KNOW ITS LOCATION, NOR A WAY UP TO IT.
"A...ship? There's another ship??"
Even with the distortion in her voice it's possible to hear her disbelief. She learned hope had a price, and it always ended with pain.
"Those ships are huge, we should be able to see it from here! If you haven't seen it, then it doesn't exist."
