How it Probably Happened
Bob the animator: āOk, so, thereās gonna be a broken piece of a sign that says āKLā on it. Can you draw that?ā
Frank the animator: āYeah, sure, howās this look?ā
Bob the animator: āWell, if it was ACTUALLY a broken piece of a sign that says āKlondike,ā it wouldnāt have a big gap after the letters, but whatever. We can fix it in the closeup.ā
Frank the animator: āUh⦠ok. Shouldnāt I change it in the first shot?ā
Bob the animator:Ā āNah, leave it, but give the new one some wood texture, and make it smaller⦠oh, and change the lengths of the spikes. The kids wonāt notice.ā
Frank the animator: āMore like this?ā
Bob the animator: āYeah, yeah! And for the final scene, make it REALLY big, and remove the texture, and⦠heck, make it two spikes instead of three. Two is better.ā
Frank the animator: āAlright, itās done. Are you sure no one will ever notice all these haphazard, illogical changes?ā
Bob the animator:Ā āYeah! I mean, what, do you think someoneās gonna take photos and put them on a blog with 3,500 followers some day? That would be ridiculous.ā
and they wouldāve gotten away with it too if it werenāt for you meddling tumblr kids
