What’s interesting is that Taylor’s “original song” doesn’t include Randy Newman. He is scoring the rest of the TS5 and has done all the previous film’s music INCLUDING ALL THE ORIGINAL SONGS that were nominated/won Oscars. Like he also did the Oscar nominated and beloved “when she loved me” with Sarah McLachlan. So it must’ve been required by Taylor that she would do a song only if she would have full credit for any awards. Kinda hilarious that blandie obviously sees this as her best chance for an Oscar given the franchise’s history, but without Randy she will not win (I’d be surprised if she’s even nominated).

Thanks for this info, I didn’t realize he was involved in Sarah’s song too—everyone but Taylor is such a testament to how she views herself as above both the elders and newbies in the music industry . We will never forget how she snubbed Celine and then Tree forced a pic after to try and make the rude behavior disappear from the public’s memory but we won’t forget!
