Rainbow Lemon Press , RLP, is a small, remote team built on our love of zines and supporting the voices of creatives in fandom. After publishing a handful of fandom zines between 2016-2021 and an original zine in 2022, we came together in one centralized place to spark collaboration between artists and writers for a yearly collaborative magazine and more.Â
We’re here, we’re queer, and we are unstoppable.Â
Many free queer stories came through fanfiction, a safe place of transformative work by authors who may otherwise be rejected from traditional publishing. RLP strives to highlight the voices of queer creatives and share their new, original works while celebrating fandom culture that uplifted our voices first.
Because of the citrus scale!
Christine or Sleepiestwolf (She/her): Layout and Production Artist
According to her Tumblr account Christine has been in fandom spaces since 2011 though she was probably reading fanfiction before then. Her primary hobbies are reading, both fanfiction and traditionally published works, playing video games, and doing [insert craft of the week].Â
Christine has also been a professional Graphic Designer and Layout/Production Artist for more than 10 years and is so excited to bring that knowledge and experience to projects with Rainbow Lemon Press
Hazel (They/Them): Founder/Editor in ChiefÂ
Hazel has been in fandom their whole life and began moderating fanzines in 2016. Their passions are in fanfiction and a slow toe-dip into original work. Are any of them finished? Who knows! Besides fanfiction, Hazel is also a cosplayer, crocheter/knitter, amature chef, and an okay-gamer.Â
Their previous zines as project manager include Space Cadets (2016, Voltron), Rose Gold (2017, Voltron), and zine as a writer/project manager include The Dragon Prince Recipe Book (2018, The Dragon Prince), Prodigal Noms (2021, Prodigal Son), A Traveler’s Guide (2022, original), and Pretty Boy: An Anakin Skywalker Pin Up Zine (2023).
Alyx has been part of fandom spaces since 2011, putting his creative writing and publishing degrees to good use (take that, Mom!) by starting dozens of fanfiction works and even finishing some of them. His writing credits also include three self-published original novels, a handful of original short stories, and a few ghost writing projects. In his free time, aside from reading and writing fanfiction, he enjoys cross stitching, traveling, and weekly trivia night with friends.
His previous zine experience includes: Prodigal Noms (2021, Prodigal Son) and A Traveler’s Guide (2022, original)Â
