Hey. Happy Father's Day, to those who observe it! I thought it would be very funny to start posting a particular fic I've been working on (up until literally today the working title has been "murder mystery fic") today. Happy Father's Day to Edward Kenway specifically, he gets... an opportunity to be better at the job!

The Nick of Time

Reginald Birch is dead. Edward would feel worse about this if Birch hadn't secretly been a Templar, and also—possibly more importantly—plotting his murder. The only problem is, Edward didn't kill him. But with means and a motive, he's going to look very interesting to anyone else looking into Birch's murder... unless he finds the real killer first.

I'm very excited for this one because. I like fix-it fics a lot. And the idea of making Edward have to investigate the murder of the guy who would have been responsible for his murder has been sparking immense joy since I came up with it.
