~**King Thespius and Eros**~

I was doing more research (as usual) and wanted to do some lore for the founding King of Thespiae, Thespius. His lore is veeery vague because he is not an important character lol. His major stories is his founding of Thespiae, having 50 daughters, and then giving all his daughters to Hercales as a gift for helping them get rid of the Lion of Cithaeron. He has some varying origins, but I have a general family lineage for Thespius as a descendant of Hephaestus.

I had a silly idea that Eros finally gets punished for causing too much trouble in Olympus and has to live on earth for a while ala Apollo's punishment. He ends up going to his earthly domain, where the kingdom of Thespiae is currently being built up. The soon-to-be king, Prince Thespius of Athens, welcomes him and takes care of him, thus Eros favors him heavily and helps him establish his kingdom and get a wife.

~**Ganymede**~

My friend @meyonnaizzz has been super supportive of my obsession with the Erotes so I asked her to create a Ganymede design for me to use since, in myth, Ganymede is depicted as friends with Eros. I also wanted to practice rendering something so they're in Zeus' garden picking Hyacinths :)

~**Aphrodite and her Erotes**~

The Goddess Aphrodite had several children that were deities of love besides Eros. Namely in this illustration i depicted them all (from left to right): Eros, Anteros, Himeros, Hedylogos, Pothos, and in Aphro's hand is the youngest child Hermaphroditus. (Not pictures is Hymenaios, he's an Erote but he's not Aphrodite's child)

In my depiction they have their chibi/"cupid" forms for easy flying and especially on earth where they shoot their arrows at their victims lol, but on Olympus, etc. they tend to be full grown, like Hermaphroditus shown above. The Gods also have the ability to change in size... kind of whenever they want, so fuck it, Big Aphrodite.

~**Eros Falling In Love**~

Was doing research into Eros and learned one of the cities that had him as their patron God (or at least most worshipped one) was Thespiae. I did a lot of research into Thespiae and any myths from that kingdom and the story of Menestratus and Cleostratus interested me a lot. It's a very short story from Pausanias seen here, so I used it as inspo for my own take on the story.

Originally, a monster is terrorizing their lands and every year a youth is taken to be sacrificed to the monster. One year Cleostratus is chosen, and Menestratus volunteers instead to be the sacrifice. So in my depiction, I imagine he prayed to Eros to give him strength :)
