More Zero and the Cyberhunters art! 

I had at least two more pieces in me I wanted to make to further explore this concept. Zero undergoing maintenance in the Blue Room and Zero doing battle in the Abraxas Mainframe with the help of Maya and Alan controlling digital avatars from afar. They do this cos they can’t follow Zero into the digital world, at least not right now dot dot dot…

Zero and the Cyberhunters illustrations! 

I wanted to showcase the two worlds of Cyberhunters, Cyber City inside the computer world and the Uncanny Valley, the real world. I also wanted to show the difference between the two worlds, Cyber City is bustling and busy, but also cold and distant. Whereas the Uncanny Valley I wanted to be warm, inviting and human; what Zero comes to call home when they want to be more human. What begins as Zero wanting to escape Cyberspace to be a normal human, turns into Zero devoting themselves to defending the Uncanny Valley and their friends from the digital monster threats that followed them. Zero must rise up and become the defender of two worlds. But not alone…

Zero and the Cyberhunters collage! Been a while since I did more with my cyber kids! 

I still like chipping away at this project when I can and showcase more of the dynamics between Zero, Sprite, Maya and Alan. This concept is still so brand new and recently written, but there’s lots of potential. Lots of lore already written in. And these concept pieces are to help explore what could be canon. Like Zero remorselessly ripping apart digital monsters lol. Digital monsters have no sentience they’re literally programmed to steal  and destroy, manifestations of the human villain’s greed and destruction, so ripping them apart should feel relentless. After all Zero cares deeply for humans the Earth and will do everything they can to protect it.

Been a long time since I did art with either Jubilee or Laura Kinney but I wanted to make something just for fun and try some new collage textures. Beyond the Western Regions, solar storms produce big heatwaves. 

Maybe, Dakota, Sydney and Chel should relocate their garage somewhere cooler. Been a while since I did a proper piece with aged up Dakota from the Beyond era. Felt good to make one again and reconnect. I hope to keep Western Regions as a whole still relevant as I keep making new projects.

Andy and Lyra are the last survivors of a turf war that’s destroyed their lunar colony. They must now work together to escape the crater and call for rescue… This makes my FOURTH webcomic overall WTF??? This story was originally developed only last year making it the nest and most recent of my concepts, given that STARLIGHT has existed since 2018. I can’t wait to have Moonbase also out as a graphic novel, my ninth book on my Ko-Fi shop, later this year!

To wrap up Beach Episode week the crew of my Western Regions webcomic take a day out!

Western Regions was a fixture of my life for so long I can’t imagine ever phasing it out. At Shackleton Moonbase, Andy (they/them) and Lyra (she/her) continue gunning for the crater’s edge! But they’re being pursued by some unknown hostile force! Also ERNIE their trusty bot companion is there too. 

I love teasing out story moments in these illustrations like some found footage thing or screenshots of an unaired cartoon. Now that STARLIGHT is wrapped up and is planned to release next Friday, I hope I can start the Shackleton Moonbase webcomic soon after as prepared as I can be!
