“Shatama” is a nickname that refers to the hit Omniscient Reader and Even If I Fall Into a Ghost Story I Still Have to Go to Work fanfiction author, aynchent on AO3, who goes by the name Sha (and can also be found on Tumblr as @circuitchoi). If you aren’t already familiar with her fanfics, I highly recommend reading them for both fandoms.
So where did the nickname “Shatama” come from?
The name is a combination of:
Sha (the hit fanfiction author)
Saitama (the hit protagonist from One Punch Man)
It was coined on the Dayzine Discord Server, which was created to discuss the upcoming GSGW/GDCG physical zine (you can find more at @gsgwzine) as well as being a place for overall fandom discussion. The nickname came out of a conversation mostly between me (Rina @rinovella), Frill (@frillbrillator), and Aynchent/Sha (@circuitchoi).

How did the nickname become so widespread?
Combining the name “Shatama” with Chuck Norris–style jokes led to a fascinating output. There are over 100 jokes compiled by Fern (@myrtle-astronaut) in this spreadsheet.
