(HILARY DUFF - SHE/HER - CIS FEMALE) Hey, my name is RANIE JACOBS. I’m THIRTY-ONE years old. I’m from SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. I’ve been in LA for FOUR YEARS, and I work as a CONFECTIONER/BAKER & THE OWNER OF SWEET CHEEKS. LA county is excellent, and all but LOS FELIZ is where I ended up. I’ve been told I’m AMBITIOUS, LOYAL, PASSIONATE and OBSESSIVE, VENGEFUL, STUBBORN. But that’s just the surface. There is so much more left to be seen!

hello everyone! time to introduce you to my muse, ranie sara jacobs.
born and raised in san diego, california, ranie’s never really been your average girl. her parents met one summer when her dad was visiting cali from tennessee. now, her dad’s not your average guy either - he went to college at the university of tennessee and after he graduated ended up traveling the country doing who knows what with who knows what.
her parents were married when she was born, also giving birth to another baby, ryan jacobs. but her father was a travelin’ man, and he couldn’t stay committed for too long, and after the divorce he moved back home to tennessee.
ranie and her brother spent their summers in the south, but grew up in cali. unfortunately, their father died while ranie was in high school and honestly, she cut off most her family back in tennessee. the only fond memories she has is learning how to make sugary sweets in her grandma’s kitchen, something she fell in love with and knew she wanted to pursue.
after high school ranie attended one of the finest culinary schools in the state, and with what little money her dad had left her after he passed she was able to invest it in starting her own business, albeit even if it was in her own tiny apartment kitchen. with the help of one of her close friends, she was able to jump start sweet cheeks and turn it into what it is a day - a thriving confectionary and bakery boutique with special treats for all seasons.
life for ranie hasn’t been all fun and games, though. she finds herself in more trouble than she’d like to admit, especially when it comes to romantic relationships. in a way, she’s like her father, afraid of commitment. but at the same time, she’s extremely loyal almost to a fault and expects her partners to treat her the way she treats them. she’s really intense, truly a scorpio. and she’s been scorned a few times, hasn’t let any of them go, either.

finn let out an exasperated sigh into his glass as someone put britney spear’s ‘toxic’ on the jukebox for what seemed like the millionth time. “are you kidding me? again?” he muttered more to himself than to the person beside him. finn was all for freedom of expression, but the same song over and over felt more like torture. “if i give you some money, can you go over there and change the damn song? there’s only so much britney spears one man can take, you know.”
“you know what your problem is, finn? you haven’t embraced your inner britney spears,” ranie shook her head. “i can tell right now that you’ve never strutted down your hallway mimicking that iconic dance on the airplane, and that, my friend, is something everyone should do at least once before they die,” she grinned. “tell you what, i’ll go change the song if you get up and dance right now.”

“Whatever that look on your face is about, no.” Jack pointed at the bar patron and shook his head. He snagged a mozzarella stick off the plate of food he’d made himself earlier and made his way across the bar. “I told you already, not tonight. If you’re gonna get rowdy you’re gonna leave. I’ve got an event for the LA Rams cheerleaders in an hour and I can’t have any bullshit going on.” Running the bar was the only thing that mattered to Jack these days, he’d lost himself over the years but this place held him together.
“you cannot tell me that a bunch of cheerleaders wouldn’t love prism powder and glitter in their served drinks, you just can’t,” ranie almost whined. “they’d look so whimsical and fun and... it would benefit both of us,” she added in a sing-song voice. “the girls post their drinks on social media, you get more business, i get business supplying you. it’s a win-win situation here.”

he had no idea how he even found himself sitting with a group of people after telling his coworker to not leave him alone but here he was sat listening to a random “scary” story begin to be told and as he looked around the group he saw that no one was interested, “oh come on man…” he let out a sigh with a shake of his head, “you think they can do better than that? or let me cut you off we have a couple weeks till october its too early for the quote unquote spooky stuff give it a rest.” he didn’t bother to look at whoever came to sit beside him.
“you know, if i had it my way it’d be october all year ‘round,” ranie replied matter-of-factly after taking a seat next to the boy. “i’m guessing you’re not a big fan of all the spooky scary stuff, huh,” she smiled. “or you probably have a super good story that you actually experienced and know what it’s really like to encounter the supernatural.”

“you’re lucky you’re cute or else i’d be kicking you out of here,” cara joked with a smirk on her lips as her arms leaned against the wooden bar that separated her and the figure before her. it was basically dead right now, but she’d rather be chatting with a customer than stacking the dishwasher. “what can i get ya?”
ranie scoffed. “okay, that’s rude. don’t act like you aren’t happy to see my beautiful smile light up this particularly... drudge-y looking bar tonight,” she half-joked as she looked around. “this place would not be getting five stars on the sims right now and that’s a total shame because you’re a five-star bartender. i’ll take an appletini, please.”
