Snow is no excuse to let evil free [@Sakura]
[If there had been a slim chance of saving the man, Ogami might’ve placed a bet on Sakura’s words and help her to carry the man so it received some medical help. However, he knew it was too late to help him and this was proven not too late. The body of the man would lie in the snow like this and it would probably take a while before it was discovered so he could choose to either leave it there and be treated as just one more guy who was mugged and killed in the process or cremate the body before it.
For a minute he considered doing the latter but then again, if his body disappeared, it would mean he would be treated as missing and then his family would take longer to know what happened to him, if they even realized at all.
In the end, Ogami decided to leave the body there so at least his family would be notified and they could properly bury him.]
There’s nothing left you can do. Leave the rest to the police and let’s go before they arrive and start asking what happened.
[Ogami wasn’t one to console others and he didn’t bother usually, but at least he was conscious of how she would feel for being unable to save another human. It wouldn’t be the first time in their lives, but it didn’t mean she would stop giving it importance every time it happened.]
How many people had died in front of her? By now, it was too many to count. Yet Sakura felt the familiar burn in the back of her throat, the burn from holding back a deluge of tears. Swallowing, she took her eyes off of the body. What was once warm, was slowly becoming cold among the snow.
Ogami's words pierced through her thoughts. She turned to him and nodded. As much as she wished that she could stay with the man's body, Ogami was right. She would have to leave willingly, or be torn away from the site. Sakura didn't feel like going through the latter.
"Yes, let us go," was all she said.
