kids handle their feelings differently than teens do
allowed myself to quick scribble these out on some index cards in between my storyboard hw (then procrastinated by coloring it oops).
with help from the other kids aj and willy put together a new foot for clem. made out of rabbit hide(fur on the inside), a carved peg, various small nails, and scraps from clems destroyed boot. over time they update it or make new ones if necessary. clem also begins to collect cool walking sticks she finds in the woods and aj helps

Small Details I appreciate in Enter the Florpus: Gir and Zim addition
Since I’m nowhere near done with that GIR analysis yet…
(quietly weeps)
I thought I’d just bring up some cute moments from Enter the Florpus that aren’t really important to the character analysis I’m working on, just things I really appreciated. (I saw this movie three times already and could probably do this with every character.. but since every hour is gir appreciation hours we’ll do Gir and Zim )
GIR mimicking Zim, and wanting to copy him. It’s… it’s good.
Assuming Dib’s Data is accurate. (it is. He’s a stalker) Zim frequents a taco place so much that Dib thinks he loves it there. Zim corrects him and says that GIR likes it there, but he thinks it’s dirty. Meaning that Zim actually takes GIR to the taco place. He doesn’t need to since it’s implied in the show GIR can go out whenever he wants and get whatever food he wants. Zim just decided to turn the whole thing into an event/outing for them to do together. And that’s really sweet.
“This isn’t the time for the giant pizza story, GIR”
Implying that he heard this story a million times, and didn’t interrupt him or yell at him until after he was finished.
Telling GIR to “calm down” when he’s having a tantrum/meltdown. In a slightly softer but authoritative tone of voice. Also Good. Very good. Quality content.
I’m sure everyone noticed. But GIR’s amazing art all around the walls of the kitchen/hiding room. Meaning that Zim lets GIR draw on the walls. It’s such a small detail, but it really does further the point that this movie takes place a year or two after the events of the series. Cause Zim is comfortable enough with GIR by this point to let him do stuff like this. It’s pretty much implied that he is never yelled at GIR for making a mess or ruining his base. It’s just part of the house now. It’s their just their “aesthetic” and it’s not a big deal.
GIR worrying about his boy so much.
Zim listens to GIR’s first song suggestion very seriously before rejecting it. Like… listens to the whole thing. Also called his robot irken brain “brilliant”
(under-rated Zim expression) Zim watching GIR work on the computer and fangirling quietly to himself over the brilliance of Chicken and Rice.
“LAUGHTER GIR!” “hehehehehehehe”
Just pausing his entire monologue/gloating to let GIR do his thing. (this happened in the show a lot too and it’s always good)
GIR screaming at Zim in terror AND looking at him. Because “nobody even lookin’ at chu” Just proving he can handle “ALL THIS” and his weird way of showing double respect. That is… actually really sweet of GIR. Like it works so well, both as a joke and a character piece. It’s great.
GIR’s terrible signs. That Zim said are terrible. GIR took that as a compliment. BUT: Relating to the art in the kitchen, Zim complains these signs are terrible, but he doesn’t ask him to do them again or ask his computer to make better ones. HE LEAVES THE TERRIBLE SIGNS UP. Which you think he wouldn’t, considering this is his very last chance to regain the respect of his Tallest (that he never had in the first place but..ahem) Like he has to put his absolute best foot forward with everything here. Why leave these terrible signs up that he knows are terrible? Cause he conquered the damn planet already, the Tallest are coming, and he has nothing to lose at this point. It’s the end of the world as we know it and he feels fine. You bet your damn ass the Tallest are going to look at his robot dog/son/brother’s terrible art.
This whole bit about the peanuts/flames. It’s one of the weaker jokes in the whole movie, arguably, but It’s just one of the moments where Zim and GIR share a single braincell and I die laughing anyways. The main three things: 1. Zim doesn’t even question why there’s a peanut button. Yes, this makes sense. 2. It takes Zim even longer to figure out what the differences between the two buttons are. 3. How extremely excited GIR is for him to press the buttons cus he built the thing.
After Dib crashes into their throne Zim pouts that GIR had a soft landing with mini-moose while he got knocked on his arse.
GIR’s screams of terror and panic at Dib’s pure malice, and thrusts mini-moose into his master’s arms immediately. Every robot for himself, that’s his Master’s rival, not his, bye Zim.
I’m almost 100% convinced the “fetch me a soothing lozenge” was improvised by Richard Horvitz and if I find out later that this wasn’t the case I’d be extremely surprised. But just the idea that GIR carries a huge box of lozenges wherever they go out for such an occasion. That is too damn sweet and makes way too much sense cause Zim screams a lot.
Finding his way back to Zim and just letting him know he did his best. Even if the last thing Zim ever said to him is “You’re Terrible” he still came back. GIR didn’t need to actually.
Using GIR as a stool so he can gloat at his arch-enemy through their front window. What a good little robot minion.
“DID WEEE WIN?! DID WE WIN?! DID WEE WIIINN DID WE WIINN”
Zim actually tries to interrupt GIR twice but doesn’t. Like he just waits for him to be finished before explaining to him what actually happened.
Just.. The moments where Zim and GIR share a singular braincell are the absolute best (why has no one made a compilation of the times they share one braincell throughout the series yet?! I want one)
Little reminder that Zim and Gir once spent a whole year watching Floopsy Bloops Shmoopsy in Issue #20. This is real content.
oh you know..
invader zim is my favorite ari aster movie
(original tik tok)
gir having a slight inconvenience
idea: zim sends gir to spy on dib except gir is very bad at being discreet so they just sorta hang out
saw a post that radiated gir energy
