The Ratty Mouses

The Ratty Mouses is the name my little brother has coined for my rodents, Bella and Bandit the rats and Hollie the hamster. Hopefully pretty soon I will be also gaining another two baby girl rats to give my rats a little more in the way of a structured, more complex community to live in. We are in the process of moving rats and hamsters around into new cages and doing them up with new cool play things. This blog is just my place to document my life with these wonderful animals :)

Good Morning All...

Introductions.

Tonight I will introduce you to my darling, the crème de la crème of Rodents; Hollie, I will post a picture or a video of Her Highness later on after dinner!

All the rats got Kitten Milk tonight with their food. Mostly for the growing babies, but the older two got some as well of course. And they are all very happy about it too.

Rescue Ratties...

Three days ago we sort of rescued 3 baby rats, we think they are 3 weeks and 5 days old. They are feeding well on their own and drinking wellWe have one white smooth coat with red eyes, Echo, who we are 100% sure is a boy. We also have two almost identical grey rex coats, Quill and Bae, We are around 70% sure Quill is a boy and Bae is a girl. They have not reached sexual maturity yet so we have around a 3-5 days to be sure and separate them.

Cuddles with Bandit.

Well… just got home from spending the last of my money in Morrisons so that we at least have food once we pay the rent, and when I got home the rats were up, so I put my hand in the cage and Bandit practically launched herself at me on to my shoulder and snuggled in my scarf! she sat there fro a while till I put my shoulder to the cage then she climbed up the cage and went back in the top door.

So cute.

Rattie Mouses <3

Found a good vet practice literally round the corner, want to just take them for a once over and chat to the vet about all things rat. Plus my baby Bandit has a sore bit on her foot and ear and I don’t think it was from fighting as the only seem to play fight every now and again and both are tiny but I’d rather just go see what the vet says. Plus they have a small animal specialist!
