I was taking some updated photos of Chickpea's current molt, and stumbled upon this gem! Poor Chickpea looks so confused here, I think I was trying to set her down and she wasn't quite on the same page! Anyone have a good caption for this photo?

This is the second letter i've had this year! born on march 19th. from the looks of it only one of the babies in this litter is a standard coat the rest are rexs!

I'm having some trouble coming up with the naming scheme for these guys. So vote on which ones you think would be cute

Name them after different sodas

Name them after different ice cream flavors/desserts

Name them after secret of nimh characters

Sorry I've been mia for a while now. I'm really bad at consistency when it comes to posting😅 this is the first litter I've had of the year, born on March 13th. They're getting quite chubby. These pictures were taken a couple days ago though.

This litter contains all boys, which was kind of surprising. But fun all the same! I ended up deciding to name them after different gus nicknames from the tv show psych (if you know you know)

i'm so proud of how much he has grown since i adopted him. he went from being depressed and withdrawn to being a cuddly friend. it goes to show how much rats need companionship from other rats. and i'd like to have words with whoever taught it was acceptable to dump him outside

Meet my rescue girls. I do vending at reptile/ exotic pet expos and on Sunday I had these girls surrendered to me. I was told about Daisy (first picture) having been apparently looking like she was about to pop pregnant for three weeks, which had me really concerned thinking she had a tumor or something. when they brought them to me she was actively spotting she's still currently spotting/in labor and has not had the babies yet. I was also told upon surrender that Dottie and Mike (second picture) are also apparently pregnant. One of them is definitely going to have babies within about a week or so. The other it's a little less certain, but i'm lending towards pregnant.

According to the lady who surrendered them to me, these were her brother's rats, but he moved into an apartment where he couldn't keep them (she was unclear if this was because he couldn't afford the pet deposit or the apartment didn't allow pets) so gave them to her, since she already had rats. Apparently every two weeks she would do a clean out of all of her rat cages and let all of the rats, (males and females) hang out in a room together so that they could interact and breed, she would then use the babies as feeders for her snakes. She was just concerned because this girl had looked pregnant for so long and she had wanted to get rid of them anyway. Since she didn't have space for them.

Daisy still hasn't had her pups, which has me a bit worried, but she doesn't seem to be in any distress so i'm just keeping a close eye on her. If she doesn't have them within the next 24 hours, i'm probably going to be bringing her into the vet to see if she needs a C-section

i will get the two darkest (will get lighter with age), the one with the white stripe on its face, the greyish beige (will have red eyes!), and their mom because she needed a home<3

they are dwarf rat girls, two weeks old at the time! very tiny, soft and cuddly!! from zaya's rats (turku, finland)

sweet boy Gusty found a forever home at yesterday's MGPR meet! we're going to miss his adorable bedhead and happy popcorns. ✨

These gorgeous babies are a week old today and they are doing absolutely amazing! I'm already obsessed with their colorings and markings and I'm so excited to see how they grow!
