In season 8 episode 20, 20 years from now Barney comes back and he is seen wearing a ring. If you look closely, it’s not just any ring, but it is the wedding ring from his marriage with Robin. In the finale, Barney and Robin 20 years in the future are divorced, and he is no longer seen with a ring. However, future Barney in season 8 episode 20 is wearing the same wedding ring, which means that Barney and Robin never got divorced, making the finale invalid.
