BUILDING YOUR CRAFT :
SIGILS : manifesting intent
This is the basic layout for how I first drew and used my own sigils. I have since moved to a more elaborate and personal method, however the very first sigil I made "head & hearth" using this system is still extremely potent.
I do coordinate my sigils with ladders but it is not necessary.
Write out intention in bold, brief and concise verbiage
Establish a regular pattern for skipping, eliminating or keeping particular letters
Choose a number correlating to your intention
List the alphabet in a grid reading A below your first number and so on. Once you have reached your number, continue the alphabet again on a new line below A in the #1 column (see below)
Using your grid and rules eliminate letters and assign numbers to those that which remain. Keep the numbers (correlating letters) in the correct order that they were in the intention statement
Choose a shape (most people pick circle) and divide it in your choosing (symmetrical, not, irregular, etc) assigning each section a number (shitty uneven pie slices are my go to). Cut and assign each space a number until you have reached the same number you used as colums for the alphabet.
From where the numbers fall on your chart, trace the shape you see most clearly (this can be based on the numbers and the basic lines in each, the shape you get from tracing around your number chart, or just the symbolic rendering you what you want to empower)
Point being, the right way is the way that makes you feel it work. So it's good to try quite a few, read about a lot, and be carefully curious. I found this sigil method easy, quick and useful when I first started to "practice".
