jeonghan took a stroll around london to look for the perfect gift for his best friend, the alluring astrid moon, who chose to spend her last winter break in hogwarts cherishing the school by staying behind for the duration of the break. jeonghan could have taken the easy path of sending her a bundle of his favorite novels, or books she might find interesting - but he didn’t want astrid spending her entire break and any more free time with her nose buried deep between the pages of a new read. she needed to loosen up a bit, the same way the other ravenclaws did eventually.
he stumbled upon a rather interesting shop in london with a few of friends from hogwarts who went home, and decided this might just be the best place to find her a gift she could either laugh at or punch him for. either way, jeonghan wasn’t about to get smacked in the face until january, when they were back from winter break, so his beautiful face would be free of bruises until then.
the package arrived at hogwarts, wrapped beautifully in silver, and tied together with a blue ribbon. inside was a note, and, of course, the present jeonghan could only deem was genius.
happy birthday, and happy holidays!
your best friend who will love and follow you to the ends of the earth.
the gift, disguised as a lipstick in a stunning silver tube, was actually a vibrator. discreet as fuck. jeonghan wondered how long it would take for smart astrid to realize why the lipstick was non-functional, and why the small tube quivered at the push of a button.
it was probably the first time astrid spent her christmas in hogwarts, a request she asked her mom which they granted without any protest. it’s not that astrid didn’t like spending christmas and her birthday at home. that wasn’t the case-- in fact, she did love spending her special days at home as she gets showered with gifts and such from her loving parents. this year, this specific year, she chose to stay at her dear school. mainly just because she wanted to make the most out of her last year.
her parents did not forget to send her gifts early in the morning. of course, astrid being the grateful daughter that she is, sent them parchment of letters as thanks. astrid doesn’t really believe that her birthdays were anything special so she did not really expected anything throughout the day. she treated the day the same, taking her usual routine. it wasn’t surprising to find the castle quite a bit empty, hallways were surrounded by deafening silence as she walked towards the library.
but before she could even make her way towards her favorite place, she saw a very familiar owl going towards her direction, with a gift beautifully wrapped in silver and blue. who could it be, though? astrid wondered. her eyebrows were knitted as she waited for the owl to arrive. once done, she quickly caught the gift just in time with her on hands and seconds after, she watched the same bird flew away. astrid was left alone to inspect the package in her hands. the first thing she did was to open the letter attached to it.
loosen up? she quirked a brow as she read and quickly she tore apart the wrapper. to her surprise, it was a...... lipstick? she held the small lipstick with her two fingers, and she carefully inspected it . why would jeonghan even send her a lipstick. her bestfriend knew she wasn’t into cosmetics. with a shrug of her shoulder, astrid went on her with her interrupted journey towards the library.
she was late to realize that it wasn’t actually a lipstick, and it was a good thing she was alone in the library. she was taken by surprise when she accidentally pushed a button, and the noise it was making was overly loud on her ears. astrid was quick to react, pushing the button once more to turn it off as quick as possible. astrid was left with a red cheeks, eyes shot wide. it took her longer to realize, and she only realized it when she inspected the lipstick further after she got herself a seat around the empty room. astrid doesn’t know how to react-- it was truly embarrassing though. albeit innocent, astrid was aware of what it was. she had heard of these things from people back in the muggle world.
she tapped her fingers against the wooden table. astrid decided to send jeonghan a response through a parchment of paper that was slipped inside her book.
very thoughtful of you. however, i’m not sure whether i’ll make a great use of it. i appreciate it though. worry not, if i ever put it to good use, you’ll be the first to know. speak to you soon, i’ll be the first one to greet you once you arrive back in school.
happy holidays. i hope you don’t choke on your food for the christmas eve. i still have yet to choke you myself the day you get back here. see you soon.
