im aware that canon flatly contradicts this but i like to imagine the events of The Daleks are how the daleks first became aware that there were other intelligent species on other planets bcos i just love the idea that the Doctor's decision to go and Poke them by exploring the city is what set them on the path to doing All Of That
we only have the doctor's word for it that The Dalek Invasion of Earth takes place chronologically after The Daleks. what would he know about it? he sucks at piloting his time machine. maybe some of 'em did survive the daleks. maybe trying to figure out who the Doctor & co were is what led them to seek out Earth in the first place. we don't know.
perhaps this also ties into the Time Lords being so willing to just erase the daleks from time in Genesis of the Daleks? like if they're aware that the daleks perhaps weren't in the original timeline maybe that's why they feel empowered to just take them out at the source
The Doctor, fully aware that earth getting invaded by the daleks is not part of established history and that something has clearly shifted the timeline: uhh the last time we saw the daleks was actually millions of years in the future don't worry about it
